Steelers sign S DeShon Elliott, 2 years, $6M

He has more tackles not because he was beaten all the time but because the Dolphins had a ton of injuries up and down that D-line.

 

He’s the one that broke MaHomes helmet and knocked Derrick Henry out a couple years ago. He a good run stopper. We need that in the middle, similar to what Troy did.

That's not how he is getting most of his tackles. It's okay if you didn't know much about the guy. Learn something before you respond.

 

Played with the Ravens, Lions, and Miami if I remember correctly. He's OK. A pretty big hitter for his size.... better than T. Edmunds. LoL

 

He can stop the run, and not scared. And make some plays. Great. Then Minkah can roam the field and help with coverage. Going to need him.

You added that this is an upgrade over Edmunds. You got that right, in fact Edmunds was so bad in Tennessee last year that even Kenny Pickett went after him and made him look bad.

 

It seems you have a bug up your ass, because your boy Pickett is riding the bench next season and I think he is garbage. Have you watched Dolphins game during the regular season. I am retired in Florida. I have time so I can watch Dolphin games. I have seen him running around clueless like Edmunds. Dolphins gave up too many third and long...perhaps even more than Steelers and some of it was definitely his fault. He did get some tackles because runners were going through Dolphins line, but the guy's coverage is pretty bad and he was there to tackle after receiver caught the ball, when his responsibility dictated he should have broken the play. He may fit a scheme where Safety's job is to primarily stop the run and underneath stuff in zone. Like I said, he's an average player with some strengths and also a lot of weaknesses. He's not a scrub like Pickett. He's average.

at baltimore his rookie year he played DB. probably nickel. the next two years he played FS at baltimore. he then played FS at detroit on a bad secondary. i believe he went to SS at miami. that's probably his best spot. minkah can go back to deep coverage with good play closer to the line.

 

As long as he's better than Neal/Kazee was last year then it's good, this signing should allow Minkah to play more in coverage where he's at his best.
