He was already a hall of famer when he went to hte giants so that's irrelevant and he lost his job with the giants to an eventual hall of famer. No shame in that.

He wasn't fired because of mitch.

Ryan tannehill is literally the reason why Tennessee HAS NOT made the sb. They were interested in Aaron Rodgers for a reason.

I’m not arguing Mitch is taking them to the SB this year but everyone knows Tannenhills level of play improved when he went to the Titans, he played well. Last year he wasn’t as good because he was asked to put the team on his shoulders due to injuries, thats not Tannenhill and that won’t be Mitch but if you have the pieces around them, those guys can perform well. What you are counting on is a balanced team that wins with defense and a ground game.

And yes, Nagy was fired in part because if his handling of Mitch. He was doing the same **** with Fields. He’s a train wreck of a coach.

Everytime he was asked to put the team on his shoulders he's failed. When they won those 2 playoff games he only threw like 20 passes between those 2 games. When the chiefs made him throw and shut down Henry he folded. Folded against the Ravens the next yr when they did it and comepltely folded and gave the game to the Bengals. They're never going anywhere with him.

Why you think the browns got rid of baker who's very comparable to tannehill for deshaun? Because average qb play in THIS nfl with the rules and how kts going now will only get you SO far. It's why san Fran is getting rid of Jimmy g. He was a throw away from a sb and they said no. He can't get us over the hump.

You act like teams haven’t won with that formula.

What has Lamar Jackson won? Team sport, if you are weak in one area, excel in another. For Denver, that was a superior defense. Mitch is better than that version of Manning was.

In this Era of the nfl? No. Yeah they did long time ago. And Peyton was more than his stats. He manged the game. Got them out of a bad play into a great one. And in that afc championship vs NE he threw for 2 tds. Let's see if mitch does that and also runs the entire offense. And who said anything about lamar jackson.

Yeah right out of college he was signed as a free agent by the Packers and cut. They already had Favre and Mark Brunell. Then he bounced around the Arena league and NFL Europe for 5 years before signing with the Rams.

Disclaimer: I'm not laughing at any one person in particular here - just at what appears to be the argument at the moment.

I'm probably missing something, and I do sincerely apologize if I am. But it sounds like some are arguing that Trubiscuit won't ever win a Lombardi for the Steelers against others who are agreeing that Trubiscuit won't ever win a Lombardi for the Steelers.

It just made me laugh is all.

I mentioned Lamar Jackson, he’s literally the reason they haven’t won a SB. To throw your own words back at you. You’d think you would understand what goes into wining a SB and once again, Denver just won 6 years ago, Eagles beat the Patriots 4 years ago. There is a clear blueprint for winning that way.

Peyton sucked worse than Ben last year. You can win without elite level QB play.

You are good!! Laugh away good sir!! :drinks:

This is exactly what is going on! The major issue of this pertains to the fact that those that are stating Mitch is not the guy to get us to the promised land are also stating he is supposed to be the BRIDGE THAT WHICH LEADS THE TEAM to the guy that can. That is the whole aspect of having Mitch here; seeing to it that Pittsburgh is competitive enough to either draft their guy this season for their heir apparent to sit and learn or wait until 2023 where they still will have a chance and have that guy sit and learn the same.

Why those who believe that Mitch is the long term answer overall is truly beyond me; doubly so based on their premise that he will not.. which is something that has already been discussed at length.

How is lamar the reason they haven't won the sb? It's his fault Derrick Henry ran for 200 plus yards against them in the playoffs? The game vs the bills he got hurt. He's not the reason they haven't won.

Nick foles in the sb and nfc championship didn't play like a qb just managing the game. He literally outplayed Tom Brady in the sb. If you're banking on a guy playing like a hall of famer for 2 games in the playoffs when he's no where near that than good luck.

Ben in his life has never outplayed Tom Brady in a playoff game. Peyton did that in the afc championship in 16 which you have to win in order to get to the sb so stop acting like just anybody could've did that. He also called their entire offense. What did the steelers offense look like with Ben calling it?

I agree with all this...so how come this same exact logic doesn't apply 2 Lamar??? Every single thing You have said 100% applies 2 Lamar, and remember....I'm agreeing with You here.

Because he put them on his back vs Tennessee in the playoffs in 2020. He got hurt vs Buffalo the next game. Year before he honestly didn't play terrible. He was ok. Their defense got embarrassed. Tannehill literally gave games away especially the cincy one.

I could say the same about every Qb you mentioned, but I'm not a hypocrite, and I agree they are not good....the difference is .....everything You are condemning them for....You are excusing Lamar for. Don't believe Me go back , and read everything You wrote, and honestly compare it 2 Lamar. Remember I agree with You....I'm just not making excuses for another Qb .

He's only played them 2 times in the playoffs. I thought You said ever. I didn't think You were only talking about 2 games.

Nice try. You make excuses for Jackson but put all blame on Tannehill. I think you get the point, you are just too stubborn to admit it.

Trubisky is better than Foles and his resume isn’t nearly as bad as you pretend.

Just stop with the Payton bs, he was beyond awful that season. Denver defense carried them the whole season and won them the SB.

Show me lamar Jackson's defense getting 9 sacks in the playoffs but he throws 4 picks while also on the last drive with them in field goal range throwing a pick to give the opposing team the win like tannehill did.

Trubisky is better than foles based on WHAT?

Who gives a **** if Peyton was bad in the regular season. Against the best team they faced that yr WHAT DID HE DO? play at his best. A team Roethlisberger in 20 years best 2x. He as always outsmarted Brady and belichick. You're not acounting for his ABILITY TO RUN THE OFFENSE which isn't accounted for in stats. He called all the plays. But I wouldn't expect you to know that. You think trubisky isn't a bust because of stats lol.
