Was he the guy Washington drove through the end zone into the retaining wall? Good times.

I think he'd be a good Nickel for us. I'm hoping Trice is ready to claim that outside spot opposite JPJ.

Even at 34, Slay is a better player than Jackson.

Not sure about this one. Presumably a one year deal dressed up as two but even still I’d have preferred somebody younger.

Yes, I just saw that. I guess he can’t officially sign until he is released on Wednesday. That gives the Eagles time to re-sign or trade him.

Maybe. But the FO needs to get more serious about the corner position; it's too important in the modern era. Reed's deal was $16M per. That's not breaking anybody's bank. And while they needed to get another tackle last year, passing on the top corner prospect in the draft to take the sixth tackle on the board was a dubious move, especially with the depth that class had at tackle.

It's probably an overreaction, but I'm disappointed with the lack of substance today. The move for Metcalf was agressive, but needed. But that's assuming you're driving for a team that gets further than the wild card round in the playoffs. If that's the case, they've got several holes that need to be addressed and they now have only two picks in the top 100.

I don't want them to do anything stupid, but I thought we'd see a little more pop out of the gates today.

Because they’re really bad at drafting/developing CB. Amazingly bad really

This. There has been much talk about how the eagles build their team. The first thing I recall is drafting, hitting, and developing. having acquired picks they use and trade for players, not afraid to move on, not afraid to 'stretch' the cap with the right players..

This is Omar's 3rd year, I see some things good, but overall I see this focus on one element, and lack of seeing the whole picture. Maybe MT has to much influence, perhaps Art won't budge on ideas. but right now it just looks like rinse and repeat with some guys with different numbers.

Long way to go yet but I agree regarding the corner position. That’s one they should have spent a bit of money on. I don’t see them fixing it in the draft. Not only do they need an outside corner but they also need a slot. Very hard to see how they fix that group from here.

My fear was we would become the Yankees chasing old players enamored with what they were! Hope the tank gives is two quality years.

Oh. I didn't know Slay was so old; Welcome back Patrick Peterson.

Lol. There the same age now. 34. We did not like Peterson at 32, will we like Slay at 34?

Slay was better at 33 than Peterson had been at 31, but the age is definitely a concern. Slay is a tough, smart corner, but it won't matter much if the athleticism is too far gone.
