if they have to replace sylvester will be not very difficult , sounds like they will wait spence maybe sign back foote at minimum and hope to find a diamond in the raugh . maybe they are targeting other position with high draft picks

That's the feeling I'm getting but I hope they aren't just throwing stuff at the problem and seeing what sticks.

No, they are doing what they do every year. They are trying to position themselves to where they don't HAVE to draft any one particular position in the draft. If they resign Foote to go with Timmons and potentially a healthy Spence. You add Sylvester and now Rolle to the mix. Rolle was playing in a 4-3 which may not fit him as well as our 3-4 does. They are trying to cover themselves. Let's be honest, if the Teo falls to our spot, none of these signings are going to stop us from drafting him, but we wouldn't have to if the next James Harrison or Troy P. are sitting there either.

I remember when this guy was in the draft a lot of people out there were saying he'd have to switch to S due to his size (he's like 5'9 or something).

This makes sense. Colbert does this every offseason. He will sign as many low-to-mid tier FA's where perceived holes in the roster are to justify taking best player available in the draft irregardless of position.
