Could be interesting...I've seen some places having him in the top 5 in this draft. Supposedly has a strong leg...and some of the misses he had this year were because he tried kicks longer than most would because of his leg.

That's a little unfair. The year that he stepped in for Reed, he was more consistent than Jeff had been. And given that our problem on offense seemed to be getting into the red zone and not scoring, we needed a reliable short to mid range guy, rather than someone booting 50 yarders.

However, we could definitely upgrade at this position. Last year, I was increasingly less confident that Suisham would always make the kick.

Field Goal kickers have to be the most under appreciated position on the team. You stink, you're the goat. You're great but miss the biggest kick of your career and you're still the goat. It is truely difficult to find a gem and hold onto him.

When the Steelers let go of Gary Anderson a decade too early it was a complete wake up call how valuable he really was. The guy was money when it came to any field goal under 50 yards. Pretty much automatic. You could actually take your eyes off the TV and go grab a cold one cause you knew he'd make it.

Now, it's hold your breath and hope there's a strong straight wind from behind.

When Oakland selected Janikowski as their number one pick way back when, all of the experts except for a very few thought they were nuts. It doesn't look so bad now after you see his stats. Last year he got hurt but for all the seasons before that he was as automatic as can be from 55 yards out.

When you are having as much trouble scoring TD's as the Steelers were last year a very good field goal kicker is a great thing to have.

You've got a point especially when you consider all the totally wasted first rounders the raiders have chosen. My question is his draft ranking. Hrapmann was ranked the 8th best out of 47 kickers graded. Where are the 7 guys who graded out better?
