To further sweeten that rumor, do you all remember how Munch turned down an interview with Arizona last year for the HC gig? It was kind of odd. I speculated then that maybe he was gunning for the Steelers HC job.

It would make a lot of sense now if Tomlin is indeed going to step down and Munch has a similar handshake deal that Butler had for the DC position.

My take on this is that they fear we may need a FG to win against the Bungles and to avoid a disaster for the organization they couldn't take a chance on Boz to kick it.

He came down to earth this year, last year was an anomaly...

It has been a strange season, I just hope the Steelers bring into training camp
next year quality competition for both Boz and Berry. How much dead money if we
    cut Boz next year?

Yeah, I go in a circle with my wife on this. I think you two are correct. I just take “next” literal.

Wait..:.I thought Boz earned his way into the stadium?? I’m confused on the logic of the Great Mighty Oz. Last game of the season....nice touch on the standard is the standard. Bizarro world never ends with this team.

Boswell? He had been a very good kicker for two years before that. This year looks more like the anomaly.

    What about

    Morten Andersen
    Gary Anderson
    Adam Vinatieri
    Jason Elam

    Etc..

I disagree. It's good to have a franchise kicker, especially in this league anymore coming down to a couple points and last point possession to win the game.

Nobody on this board would have foreseen the performance by Chris Boswell this year after three solid years and making the pro bowl last year.

For whatever reason he's been cold as ice this year. It's a rare thing to see this type of inconsistency with kickers.

Man this is the kind of stuff I need today I am feeling so depressed it isn't funny. To have Tomlin gone after today and Munch take over would put me on cloud nine! :beg::beg::beg:

    Haven’t seen this posted yet...

Boswell apparently has a groin tear*. Did it in warmups in New Orleans, made it through the game, in pain after. Finished his heavy workout day the following Thursday (12/27), again had pain. Put on IR the next day.

    * = grade 2: “moderate tear of a larger amount of muscle fibers; more tenderness and pain than Grade 1, loss of strength”

I think they fabricated this story also. I have come to believe that we are getting bogus information from the Steeler organization.

It was tweeted (I think) by Boswell’s brother on 12/30. His tone seemed peeved that, 2-3 days after being put on IR and amid wide speculation, the nature of the injury hadn’t been disclosed.
