Lolley posted an article today looking at some remaining free agents the Steelers could be interested in.
    Two interesting tidbits-
1- the photo in the article is of none other than Houston.
2- a reader named Steve Kea posted this-
Dale, i noticed you’re following Justin Houston on Twitter now. There must be more than some mild interest between the two sides. How do you think he’d fit into the Steelers scheme? Would he replace Bostic or ??

I've been playing around with the Over the Cap salary cap model, doing permutations of structures for an extension of Ben's contract and other ways to clear cap space. Bottom line - I think any opportunity to sign Houston likely died when Bud's $9.2 million became fully guaranteed unless we can find a stooge with cap space to take Bud off our hands and pick up the guaranteed salary. The only other way I can see to do it would be if Ben took a very team-friendly extension.

The guaranteed salary for Bud is a cap killer for a guy who is a subpar starter.

I've been trying to keep track on Google and twitter and other than one article about Earl Thomas trying to recruit Houston to the Ravens there has be zero about him visiting anyone, or his agent in contacting anyone. Has anyone heard anymore rumors?

It has been quiet, so quiet I have given up hope. Man I hope I am wrong but I just don't see this happening now.

I figured with the signing over the weekend either Steelersdepot or behind the Steel curtain would drop a difinitive they are done making moves but it's all quiet. Houston has limited options as far as scheme otherwise anyone needing a veteran OLB would be snapping him up. So if your a 30 yr old pass rushing specialist what's better than Pittsburgh? I'm still holding a glimmer of hope that it is what someone mentioned a done deal just waiting on restructuring and extending Ben.

The thing that don't make sense and makes me give up all hope is this. It was reported that the Steelers wouldn't announce it until Ben signs his extension but then a few days later they announce Barron????? Something just don't add up.........

PFF is reporting that Justin Houston has agreed to a 2 year, $24 million contract with the Colts.

I would have preferred that to our 1 year, fully guaranteed $9.2 million for Dupree.

Did you really think the Steelers were going to get him? They're in bargain mode now.

IDK like Houston says he can focus on pass rush and not coverage as a player gets older that can't be a bad thing. In our system he would have no clue what he would of been since we bounce back and forth from a 3-4 to a 4-3, right?

Lol, no not really. The part of that post that hurts to read is that they’re paying Bud $9.2 million

The Colts can have him, I wouldn't pay Houston that much, he's on the wrong side of 30 and has been injured lately. Fans always want to sign a big name, even if it doesn't make sense .
