Archie Manning is in the HoF and never had a winning season. Football is still a team game. He did a lot with some poor teams.

yea he had 173 interceptions and 125 TD's. barely ever 60% (2) passing in a season ever. is that what we want here? i don't.

Of course I remember Bobby Douglas. Horrible QB but he could run!

I don't think Archie is in the NFL hall of fame.

If Archie Manning is in the HOF it's for raising Sons that are in , or going 2 be.
I agree. I don't think Archie is in the HOF. Maybe Saints HOF

Archie is in the Saints HOF and the college HOF but not in the pro football HOF.

i like the fact that they met with corral. nice completion percentage. has some wheels. i didn't think he would be there. maybe they do move up. who knows.

    corral
    pickett
    howell

those would be my 3 if we go. in that order as well.

See the more I watch the more I lean Howell. I don't want any of them, but if I was forced 2 take one .....for now ....I believe I'd go Howell.

I saw a Steeler mock draft on YouTube yesterday it might have been from Dale Lolley I don't remember, but what was said was that Josh Allen had the fastest mph ever timed throwing a football at the combine.Willis's workout at the Senior Bowl was timed 10 mph faster than Allen.
Of course this doesn't mean that he will be a great QB but it does show that he has an elite arm that is second to none.

i believe they will. i said this a while back that for some reason i think howell is the guy. i thought he or strong. i did think corral and pickett would be gone though before we pick. not so sure now. i like howell and i like pickett and i like corral. i like strong as well. howell and corral just seem to play the position effortlessly. more natural in their movements from what i see. time will tell.

Nobody is knocking His arm strength, but if You own a 50 cal, and can't adjust, and aim where You need 2 ...so you hit your target...you can have a bb gun for all it matters. Again. JMO.

Ben Koyak, the pride of Oil City. Watching him play in HS he looked like Andre the Giant compared to the other kids on the field.

Hey, still in the league. Better than that NY guy that used to post here when he was pimping some DB. That one really is a “who”?

This is what I see when I watch Willis. Not the grossly over exaggerated he takes every receiver but 1 off the field, doesn’t go through progressions, blah blah blah.

Not 2 make this what it's not , but if You go back ,and watch every Qb of color that have been on top of each draft class He has said the exact same things. It's because of Him having 2 change positions. He has said so Himself. I watch Mike Rob almost every day.
What I go by M. Willis is not at all because of what others have said. It's because of what I have seen watching about 25 hours of Him playing. 8 out of 10 times He looks for one guy ,and then tucks ,and runs.

I doubt any of you have watched more film review of Willis than I have and I agree with Rob, he shows it right there.

I totally understand why people are going to fall for this guy. He has incredible arm talent and he can make plays that other QB's and prospects cannot. I think Malik's overall game is less than ideal and I cant deny that fact. I understand its not the "oh he cant make reads thing" because quite frankly, most college offenses aren't built that way. That is going to be a question for nearly 100% of college QB prospects entering the NFL draft with very few exceptions. I don't want to say I am some expert on QB play or anything, but I didn't know much about him so I watched some games of him. Not highlights, but actual full games. Namely the Virginia Tech game, a Syracuse game, an NC State game, and the Ole Miss game live. He was just so maddening to watch. Maybe I just got unlucky and caught some bad games, but there were just so few things that I liked. I see his future as needing to be heavily sheltered in the offense in the NFL and will essentially need to be fed lots of rollouts, easy reads, and RPO's

He has accuracy issues and consistency issues. He does better on deep balls than intermediate to short balls, but he would just straight up miss wide open players (sometimes over their head or in the dirt, but often just too far behind or ahead of the WR that he cant even get a hand on it). His WR's would have to adjust to a very large number of the balls thrown their way, even the ones that should be routine. Its almost as if he is better slightly off balance or on the run. He missed way too many easy ones. He is a plus runner, but not spectacular. Fairly elusive and has some power. Made some really good moves that stood out in a couple of the games, but he isn't going to be mistaken for Lamar Jackson any time soon. He made some nice plays maneuvering in the pocket, but only if the guy is coming at him straight on. He doesn't "feel" or recognize pressure coming from his sides very well and it led to some bad sacks and turnovers (this is one of the things I HATE about Rudolph currently). He has poor ball security, and had a weird number of snaps he just dropped for no apparent reason. I think his mechanics can be cleaned up, so that doesn't bother me much. He does keep his eyes downfield while scrambling quite often, so that is a plus. Some of his more memorable plays are when he eludes the pocket and makes a splash play with his arm instead of just tucking it. I definitely like that about him. His decision making is lacking, he fires dangerous balls pretty consistently. I appreciate the confidence in himself but I felt like I'd have a heart attack if he was wearing the Steelers' uni during these games. He did look a bit better in 2020 than 2021, but I fear that he is a beneficiary of dunking on some bad competition and really struggling when the competition was more even or he was on the worse team.

I really don't think I am coming at this misinformed/underinformed. I know you aren't either, we just come away with different feelings from his play, and that's OK. Willis made some really awesome plays, that is undeniable. He has a really good arm. But I just came away frustrated with him more than anything. He will be a superhero for a few plays here and there and be just downright bad otherwise. He has far too many deficiencies in crucial areas for me to be comfortable projecting him as a future NFL starter. There are just too many other solid options for me to consider him in this year's draft. I like Howell, Pickett, Corral and Ridder all better than Willis. I know he is going to go early and I will cheer like hell for him to succeed if the Steelers are the team that rolls the dice on him. I would just prefer if we didn't.

Almost everything YOU said here, and described....I totally agree with. I've watched every game I could get My hands on so far, and I really don't see it. I really don't see what others see. I see the raw material, but the league is full of raw talented Qbs that are backups, or already out of the league. I keep thinking some must be watching games I've not seen.
Like You... if We draft Him I will root for Him, and I will even make excuses for Him. LoL
