Steelers should sign Aldon Smith

I know I'm going to get totally flamed here, but can you imagine a better fit for our lack of depth at OLB? Dude is a beast and needs some stability from a solid organization.

I realize he's also an idiot and irresponsible. Hopefully we just won't let him get behind any wheels.

 

Lol no. I don't think there are any teams lining up to get him, let alone the steelers. Leave the idiots alone. He will never play anyways, he's always suspended.

We have four guys who could start at OLB. So where's the lack of depth again?

 

If the DUI charge stands, he will be suspended for awhile no thanks.

 

With the way they've been signing criminals and suspended players lately, I'd guess the Cowboys will be looking at him.

Steelers should DEFINITELY sign him. Smith has 44 sacks in 50 career games. Jarvis Jones has 3 sacks in 21 games.

If Smith can't stay out of trouble Steelers won't have to pay him.

I think by now we all know the Steelers have done as much dirt as any team outside of Oak, Dal and Cin.

Need a pass rush badly. If Dupree plays to his physical ability and Smith stays out of trouble Steelers would have one of the best pass rushes in the league.

 

Top 10 reasons Steelers should sign Aldon:

10. 8 M in cap space and the cap goes up next year.
9. Hasn't been arrested since 2013.
8. Kaepernick needs a good smack.
7. The crazy OLBs are always the best (Lloyd, Greene, Harrison, Charles Haley, LT etc.)
6. Has more sacks than every OLB on the roster combined outside Deebo.
5. Still a better driver than Ta'amu.
4. Dalton and Flacco deserve it.
3. Can talk about booking procedures after games with Bengals.
2. The number 99 is now available.
1. The last A. Smith in the front 7 was pretty damn good.

Aldon Smith isn't suspended.

Joey Porter (the guy who attacked Levi Brown in a casino) and James Harrison could maybe scare him straight.

I did some stuff that would have got me suspended when I was under 25.

There aren't going to be any charges from his latest incident but teams are probably waiting to see how Herr Goodell flips out.

Steelers are going to give Jarvis another season and Aldon will be on another team.

No one has to freak out! The Steelers will not be in danger of having a player lead the league in sacks!

I really hope this thread is a joke. I mean having addiction issues is one thing. But to call in a Bomb Threat to an airport is another. Smith should be in Federal prison for that. That goes way beyond any Immaturity issues. That is a Bad Character Issue. And having that kind of Bad Character does NOT Improve at his age. I would not touch him no matter what. Let the Dallas Cowboys or the Bengals of the world sign him. The Steelers organization may not be perfect, but it is at least Classy. And signing a Scumbag like Aldon Smith would Immediately eliminate that Character.

 

They signed Greg Hardy and Rolando McClain, Aldon Smith would fit right in with them.

 

The 49ers just signed Shawn Lemon, probably to help depth-wise for the loss of Smith.

 

So what happens to the injury settlement? WTH?

 

I bet you Ben wouldn't mind seeing him in black and gold, instead of messin with him in cincy, Baltimore, Cleveland, and such.

 

He isn't going to be in the NFL much longer. He is about to get the Justin Blackmon treatment and get the indefinite suspension. His days as an NFL player are over.
