What other team is going to pay $17m/year for a RB? Clearly there are NO other teams right now doing that, so why would anyone want to be the first? D Freeman is the closest thing and he's fiddy cent on the bell dolla

You act like AV is an all pro top LT in the league. He can easily be replaced.

You're missing the point. The original question was ...where could we find the money to pay Bell. And there were many avenues. This being one. I still don't think AV was worth the contract he got.

I will tag him this year, and I will tag him again next year if he doesn't agree to terms. I understand wanting the money, but he obviously doesn't want a championship. Bettis was a great RB and even he knows if it was not for winning a SB, he may have been waiting quite a bit longer for the HOF.

I respect and love having Bell on the team. I want him on the Steelers. However, I don't agree with any player (employee) having the right to demand more from their employer. I know sports are different, but we all have the ability to ask for a raise. Sometimes we will get it, sometimes we will not. It is and should be based on performance, and Bell has performed. I can ask my boss for a raise and if I'm given the raise what right do I have to say no, it isn't enough and I'm not working until you pay me more.

No chance they tag Bell again next year. It would be like 20 million.

    He'll be in a new uniform 2019.

Imagine how bad his attitude will be if the Steelers draft a RB with their first round pick and don’t manage to trade him.

If the Steelers tag him next year he will have earned almost 50 million in guaranteed money in 3 years. I think he would be happy after the 2019 season with that.
