I hated the pick when they made it. I hate it even more now.

Yeah, only way it made sense is if they were done with Rudolph and moving on. Infuse youth and a new guy cut ties and go with it. They gave the kid 8 snaps?

Either the trade speculation by pundits was all BS or they couldn’t get anything for him

 

Or it may just be that Oladokun was that bad. Steelers might be thinking that if they do trade Mason they are better off signing a guy that was cut from another team.

 

They can still trade MR b4 season starts, and pick up some QB off of waivers

 

The team released linebacker Genard Avery, receiver Christian Blake, running back Mataeo Durant, quarterback Chris Oladokun and kicker Nick Sciba.

 

Sciba's name was just wayy too close to Scobee to take the chance

 

Why trade a qb that knows the system for another scrub that doesn’t lol

 

I hate when current Draft picks don't even make it to opening day or the PS.
What a waste. Especially a QB that wasn't needed.
Should have traded that pick for next draft.

 

I really thought he was the best QB on the roster and was destined to bring home several championships

Steelers could have drafted a 7th round O-lineman or ILB. What a waste of a pick. Steelers have hit on 7th rounders in the past.... Harvin III, Beachum and Keisel. Should have rolled the dice.

 

Sciba looked really good, I'll bet you see him somewhere in the NFL again.

 

Can't put them on the PS until after you cut them and they pass through waivers.

We will know what the Steelers truly thought of him after final cut down and the PS is made

Although he probably will not get a look anywhere until next year... if the Steelers like him they may bring him back to the PS to work with through the season.

Why are they cutting Avery? They have no depth at outside linebacker. He is not a star but at least he has some starting experience in the league.

 

Usually I'm not that upset. Some said harvin could have been an uda, but there are no guarantees, so you assure yourself if you want the pick. This one made no sense. Given the needs and the amount of players in later rounds and uda that make the roster this was a wasted pick.

 

wondering same thing. I had just penciled him in as starting ILB by default. I guess they like Hamilcar Rashed or Delontae Scott

 

I don’t think he was ever going to be a starter but he can offer capable cover both inside and outside. Unless he is injured it makes sense to keep him around I would have thought.
