Don't know numbers yet but the fact that he's been shopping around and still stayed tells me he wasn't giving lip service when he said he wanted to be here.

Love this resigning. I liked Cotchery when he was on the Jets and I thought he came along well last year. If we use him the right way this year I think this is a steal.

This is the kind of "under the radar" signing that makes the Steelers competitive year in and year out.

Good move by the Steelers if they can draft some stud o-lineman this offense will be scary good.

Great news. I like Jericho, and with Hines off on the second act of his life, a good veteran on the unit is definitely needed.

I hope it puts to bed all the drafting a WR talk. Now even if we lose Wallace next year or this year, we'll still have three starting caliber receivers. I'm positive that between Wallace, Sanders, and Brown, we'll keep at least two of them.

This was a needed to get done deal that I really think Cotchery gave the home team discount on. He fills the bill where Hines was, but with a little more speed.

wallace doesn't seem intent on playing. that leaves cotch and brown as two guys that have made a full season , even if sanders does, we will need a couple more. i fully expect them to draft at least one.

I'd say it is pretty much "under the radar" - maybe not to Steeler fans, but I doubt this even made Sportscenter. I think all Jack is trying to say is these are the solid type of strategic moves the Steelers usually do right to maintain competitive.

I look at this as a very strategic decision by the Steelers on multiple fronts. (1) It says to Wallace - look you want to hold out, we feel confident that we can put three solid receivers out there in Brown, Sanders, and Cotchery...you might want to think about either signing the tender and playing for the massive contract next year or work with us on a contract that will pay you well but not in the elite status of receivers (2) If Wallace does come back - it says to Sanders, your injuries are a concern and you are going to have to compete for that #3 spot and (3) possibly gives Ben/Haley that perfect safety valve receiver who is a veteran who knows how to get open.

By the way - was everybody ready to throw their beer bottle into the wall last night watching the Pens give up a big lead again to the Flyers, I swear from mid way through the 2nd period and into the 3rd they spent 80% of their time on Philly's side of the ice.
