    Steelers RBs coach Kirby Wilson

Steelers RBs coach Kirby Wilson was "badly burned" in a house fire Thursday night.
The fire broke out around 3:00 a.m., and Wilson was flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital. There's no update on his condition, though we've yet to see reports that the burns are life-threatening in nature. It seems likely that the Steelers will be without him on Sunday.

Hope he is okay and recovers quickly. A win Sunday will help lift his spirits hopefully.

This is horrible and one of my biggest fears. I'm not really a religious guy, but he's definitely getting some prayers from me.

Hopefully, it looked worse than it actually was (from the neighbor's commentary about it being head to toe), but his limbs were black? yikes.

And 3rd degree burns often don't hurt because the nerves have been destroyed. His "I'm fine" comments worry me. I really hope it was just shock or adrenaline.

Get well, Kirby. You have a long road coming. My prayers are with you.

This terrible! I wish him a speedy recovery.

Not to be unconcerned, but this is not what the team needs going into a game with the 2nd string RB and 2 recent PS call-ups backing him up. This could really hurt. Expect to see plenty of TE sets on 3rd down.

    How horrible!
Not sure why I`m even posting, cause I don`t know what to say.
    Be praying for him.
30 to 50% of his body covered in burns, and in an induced coma sure sounds closer to "life threatening", than not...
    WOW!!!
Sure feels like God isn`t much on our side rite now...
Injuries on the field are kind of expected, part of the chance you take for playing the game...
This kinda off-field stuff is like a bolt of lightning....
Ya just never know what life`s gonna give ya...
Hope the players can focus on what they gotta do Sunday... can`t be easy...

I was looking for a thread on this - if for no other reason than to express what has already been said. My thoughts and prayers are with Coach Wilson and his family. I'm sure that he realizes that life is so much more that football - but I'm also sure that he would like nothing other than for the team to rally around him and win some games in his honor. I also hope that the team uses this as just another motivation to overcome some difficult odds. It is hard to tell how a tragedy to one of your "family" can affect you going forward. Personally, I think this team is veteran/mature enough to turn it into a positive. Burns are so difficult to live with/recover from. I really hope and pray for a full and speedy recovery for Coach Wilson.
