I just saw on facebook that of course Ryan Clark and Ray Lewis were fined, but also get this....
    JAMES HARRISON !!
What in the world he could have been fined for is beyond me...for suiting up I guess.
    Absolutely Ridiculous.

He hit Ray Rice helmet-to-helmet as Rice was about down on the ground after being tackled by Foote. Happened in the 3rd Qtr.

Yeah, heard this last night. You can see it here: http://burgh.us/9oe I meant to share it earlier, but I've been busy this morning. Glad to hear Lewis will be fined in the name of fairness, but it means squat to me. How about a flag on the field that can effect the outcome of a game instead of handing out penalties two days after the game.

I said this a while back. It's like the fines are the NFL's way of saying "yeah, we missed this, sorry."

Glad that the fines were consistent (though the repeat offender thing might see Harrison getting more)

Why not McClain too fit his helmet to helmet on Brown. I did not even notice the JH hit.

The commish must watch Steeler games frame by frame on Monday morning. "No, wait, go back. Yep, there's James Harrison again. Hit him with the big one, boys!"

I am of the opinion that if it does not draw a flag on the field you should not be fined. Not sure if it is considered legal by the inconsistent officials during the play how the league can come back and fine you for a "legal" play.

Goodell is a joke. He has way too much power for a commissioner. He is judge, jury and executioner.

Appalling. Goodell needs someone to explain to him what, exactly, football is.

The NFL fined Ryan Clark $40,000 for a hit from Sunday's game at Heinz Field and the Steelers safety is angry about it.

Clark said Mike Tomlin informed him of the fine and said the hit, on Baltimore tight end Ed Dickson was used by the Steelers coach to demonstrate a good, clean hit during the team's video review of the game on Monday.

Clark also was fined $15,000 the previous week for a hit out of bounds, one he said he accepted because it was wrong. However, he did not accept this one.

"This time it's wrong,'' Clark said and then criticized commissioner Roger Goodell, "not that I respected Roger before this.''

Clark said if he's going to get hit with such a big fine on what he and Tomlin and teammates believe was a clean hit, "I might as well put him to sleep for real" or take out the receiver's knee.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger backed up Clark and called for NFL Players Association head De Smith to do something about it to protect the players from such fines.

"Everybody's upset,'' Clark said of his teammates and coaches.

I actually thought he'd get a little less. I imagine the 'office pool' in the locker room was higher on Hines' head, so he made out ok.

I sweare to god these fines are ridiculous especially running backs when they lower their head just before the hit changing the defensive players contact..

Yup, because this was a called hit! They called the shot and got him on the only real play he was in on.
