Awesome story! When we’re drafting in the 20s instead of Top 5… I’m going to comeback and read this. When we don’t make the playoffs again next year… I’m going to comeback and read this.

    This is my Super Bowl.

Thank you. This was the Best Steelers game I’ve Ever been to. I was at Ben’s last home game and it was a great one too BUT the Fan interaction in the stand helped make this my most memorable one that I just had to share.

    Stadium theoretical capacity is 68,400

They can and do sell standing room tickets

Also private boxes can buy as many extra tickets as they want

The Steelers are known for posting the actual attendance not tickets sold

I know for example the club sections were full of people trying to get warm from time to time

You're a troll because instead of commenting about a cool story, you and your sidekick ride in and blather on about Tomlin and this organization. Something this post has nothing to do with. You're not just a troll, you're a boring troll. At least try to be creative. s670986375659077316_p69_i1_w612.jpeg

Nice read in the story, sorry that Beavis and Butthead commented, kind of drags a good story down.
I'm still kicking myself for not going, but Christmas Eve and such and I just didn't feel like fighting the storm.
Franco Harris really made it a tough decision.
And the win made it even better.

Yes I won’t be able to sleep tonight because metal man_69 doesn’t like my posts :roflmao:

I will delete these though because this has become a little girl bickering match and that wasn’t my intention on Cajuns story.

Deleting a post because you didn't want to take away from Cajun's story yet you made the thread about Tomlin once again, therefore taking away from Cajun's story. You really are a smart one aren't you?
Also, Metalman_69? Man, why didn't I think of that? Sick burn, bro.

Im kinda don’t get those with tickets not going, in general ! But not only was this game on Christmas Eve But Also a late 8pm night game!!! That alone makes the decision to attend the game a difficult one BUT then this Winter Storm shows up !!

My wife and bought our tickets around week 3 or 4. We have grown Children so we all had our Christmas celebration a week earlier. We now have nothing to do on Christmas so there was no way we weren’t going and as the time got closer and the news of the brutal winter storm arriving we decided, since we used to snow ski we kinda know a little something about staying warm so away we went!!!!!!!

So very glad we were able to go and glad we did go.

Well, since Tomlin is still the coach, and these guys are super upset about it, no one is allowed to be happy.

I’m happy but that’s just me

I would be happier with another Super Bowl

But I still enjoy the games

Apparently that makes me a homer

I’m good with that better than being a troll

I traveled most of my life to games and I am always humbled by looking up from the field and seeing folks like you and your family enjoying the experience. Over the years I've seen some really good stories there. I am retired now, and it would have been a 7 hour or so drive through the mountains, I can live vicariously through your words.. lol.

I remember a family like you mentioned. They could never afford tickets but were huge fans... they won tickets on a radio show and the old man was so happy, Keisel signed his shirt for him and gave his son a cap.. those moments are gold. (He had a Keisel jersey on = Big fan of 'the beard')

That’s awesome for them. The Beard was not the best DL but how could anyone not like him!! My wife and drove from NC and wore #32 & #20 jerseys. No chance of getting signatures and that’s ok, the total experience couldn’t have been any better. Great win, great fans around us…… even the couple of raider fans.

We were down at the strip district the day before and a raider fan was in a store, some fans were heckling him a bit about being there and he said his co-worker back home was a Steeler fan and he wanted to get something for him. I thought was pretty cool of him to do.

    Thank you!!!

After we lost TJ to injury and Mitch was playing bad and lost many games in a row and they decided to go with Kenny I gave up on THIS season. I really didn’t care if we won or lost because I figured we were out of the playoffs and I just wanted Kenny to get solid experience and learn and grow and hopefully next year we’d make a serious playoff push. I just wanted us to really win the Franco game and ravens games.

My thinking was this season is lost so on the upside we’ll get really good draft picks to rebuild and re-load.

Now we’re winning, TJ is back and Pickett is looking pretty good. We have a chance to make the playoffs, even though it’s a slight chance and I just can’t pull against the Steelers in hope for a higher draft pick. I know realistically if we make the playoffs our chances are really small against the other teams in the playoffs.

    So, looking at draft picks and if we’re hurting ourselves by winning here is what I found:Our Recent 1st rd picks around # 20….. Pouncey#18, Casey Hampton#19, Kenny Pickett#20, Najee#24,David DeCastro#24,Alan Faneca#26, Heath#30, TJ#30, Cam Heyward#31….

We have da bears 2nd rd pick which will be Very High plus ours so I also looked at recent round 2 picks and was Pleasantly surprised by refreshing my memory….
Dermonti Dawson 88’— Carnel Lake 89’— Marvel Smith 2000– Woodley 07’- LeVeon Bell 13’- Tuitt 14’- DJ Johnson 19’- Alex Highsmith 20’- Pat Friermuth 21’- George Pickens 22’…

Not too bad and remember without that Fat Contract for a QB we’ll have cap room for critical URFA signings……

My thing is whether we win or lose next year is looking really really good, and we should be fighting for a Super Bowl !!!!

Here we go Steelers Here we GO !!

Thank You! It’s a great feeling knowing fans enjoyed sharing the experience we and the fans around us had on such an iconic night. It’s a lot better than some of the negative post I’ve been involved in.

Here’s a bit of trivia about that game many didn’t realize. This game and the Immaculate game the Steelers scores 13 point in the final moments to win the game. Also Carr’s Final pass was made with “32” Seconds on the clock and was intercepted on The “32” yd line to seal the game!!!! It’s almost like he was saying “ I’m here, thank you!!”
