I was also reminded of the playoff game when the Raiders accused the Steelers of freezing the edges of the field to slow down their vertical game as well. That one was really ridiculous but I just think it's a fact of life that cheating will either always be suspected or actually perpetrated in pro sports. ESPECIALLY given the money that stands to be made these days. Didn't the Raiders also get Stickem banned too? I know players used it and it wasn't cheating "officially" but it basically was. Some think that it's not really cheating if "everybody is doing it" but I say that ANY way you try and gain an unfair advantage is cheating. One of my buddies told me once that "Right is right if nobody's doing it and wrong is wrong if everybody is doing it". I agree.

I remember the Raiders putting silicone on their jerseys to make them slippery. Bellychuck must be an Al Davis disciple.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I can't think of any better bedfellows than Davis and Bellichick. Peas in a pod. "Just win baby." How you win is incidental.

Remember when they accused Ray Guy of putting helium in the footballs so he could get better hang time?

This thread is dusting off some old brain cells.

There was one game against the Raiders, when Webster looked down at the ball and there were "bad things written on it about his mother".

Lester Hayes was the Raiders stickum player. He was covered in the stuff. Tthey had a hard time cleaning the ball after he got his grubby mits on it.

I'm sure that just made Webby mad and he kicked butt!

Fred Biletnikof was the stickum king!

They used that stuff on the offensive side too. The "Holy roller" in San Diego. Al Davis accused the Chargers of bugging their locker room and vice versa. Yep, sounds like the Pats have been studying.

There was an article today on my cbssports app where Bradshaw told a story about our OL putting silicon on their jerseys. When Noll saw it he freaked out on them. It was a good quick read...on my phone so can't link it
