Well, an AI might remember something insensitive that you said in an argument 15 years ago, but it probably wouldn’t feel the need to dredge it back up 5 times a year.

Many moons ago my mother made a subtle comment and my dads head dropped

He looked at me and said “that was 38 years ago”

I went to see the 1977 movie Wizards in a similar state of mind and half way through the movie lost touch with the fact it was a movie and not reality

I like writing songs and I usually just put them to a simple melody on acoustic guitar or piano. There are AI programs out there specifically for taking a musical style, lyrics, or just general idea what the song is about. You input the info and the program generates a song based on what you input. Well, part of a song. It makes a generic version that you can then edit and re-write. I don't use the Chat AI program but I think it's a lot like that, but with music. It's just a tool that helps writers by offering options to what you are trying to write.

I have found over the years that I don't much care for the 'band' dynamic. I actually dislike playing gigs and all that goes with that. But music is still my creative outlet. Even when I use an AI program, I am still the one that determines the final edit. I feel like it gives me more options and choices that I maybe hadn't come up with yet. Just a writing tool, IMO.

I hear what you are saying about songs completely generated by AI. IMO, pretty much everything played on mainstream POP radio is AI generated. There are entire music genres that are very open about being AI generated content. I'm not a fan of that, sounds like you aren't either. But that's the future. Even art is becoming a program.

I hate it. LoL. I knew this one Bluegrass/Metal sight , and it had millions of viewers, and I was like .....:hmm: everything sounds fake, and later I learned it was completely AI .
I don't begrudge people using it, but I can't do it, and I hate seeing it take the place of other struggling musicians.
Yes bands are a pain in the a$$, but it can also be wonderful.
Some of my best friends to this day are guys I played with....even back to high school days.

Those high school bands are the only ones I ever had fun with. Guys now are either drunks, or take themselves too seriously even though only playing covers. Plus, to me anyway, it's just a glorified karaoke.
I hear/read people complain about bands using auto tune or click tracks and such. What's the difference? Nothing is being created here. It's just cover songs.

I'll say one more thing on the subject and then shut up.
If you are old enough to have been around when the first robots came out we were hearing the same thing about taking away all the jobs within a decade. That was about 50 years ago.
I'm still waiting for that one that can mow my lawn and cook my dinner.

I don't mind click tracks, but IMO.....Autotune is stupid. If You can't sing it in a certain key , play it in another key, and if You still can't sing it, don't.
    JMO.
The difference is if You can actually paint the Mona Lisa, or You just put paper over it, and trace it. There is a difference.

Well I've seen ones that build vehicles. So I bet if You had the right money , that wouldn't be a factor, but why pay for a expensive robot when You could pay a sexy woman to do it instead???

We are probably closer than we realize to ai being able to out tiktok the influencers to. Even with the free versions available now, I can make some very good stuff. Imagine what we are looking at in just a few short years.
