For the beach we get a house that allows dogs and take them

For other long trips my sister in law needs the money so she stays at our house and we pay her instead of a kennel

Plus she likes staying at our place in the country rather than her apartment

And recently we found a house sitter if need be and she has been great

It wouldn’t be great, but it fits better with my work schedule.

    Now is keyword.

They should have done it a lot sooner is my point. If the League had started off all of this a lot sooner, they could be seeing even more money. Given how Live Streaming Services took off in the mid 2010s, that should have been the time the NFL should have hammered out deals across other emerging markets as opposed to playing it safe.

    True.

However, my point pertains to the ratings and interest being a lot higher had the NFL showcased more interest and invested a lot more into Live Streaming World Wide. Remember that the first ever one was done back on October 25th, 2015. The NFL's desire for expansion should have taken place the year after via Live Streaming Games across multiple countries.

What were the options then?? Not saying they could not have brought them along sooner with investment, but even a couple of years ago the Amazon Thursday games were horrific at the beginning. The more recent games on netflix and other streams also had issues. Now if THEY (NFL) had moved, or encouraged the Networks that this was a huge part of the future of broadcasting, it may have went quicker and smoother. On one hand communications has moved at record speeds, on the other traditional operators have been slow to catch on, or up with it.

Kind of reminds me of the start of cable networks, ESPN was there, but was carrying BMX bike racing and other amateur sports. When they started to gel they became major players.

The options were to continue to improve upon the service; something the NFL did do. However, not casting a wider net is something that confuses me. Given how the NFL enjoys its ratings and revenue, I was under the impression at the time that Live Streaming + The International Series would have been the perfect one two punch after the conclusion of the 2015 season. Turns out I was wrong.

Again, I am happy that the NFL is finally going Global but dear god man... took a helluva long ass time to get there.

Be awesome for you! I'm pumped to see the World Cup here in the States. I have to make it to 2026. Philadelphia will get some games.

I'm going to goof with you here guy. I'm an avid fiction reader and there are fantastic English authors but could you please tell them to stop using plural for singular events;)

    Steelers are the home team

They would only do it because of the extra home game

They will have their other regular 8 home games

In 2021, the NFL expanded the regular season to 17 games, resulting in an alternating home game schedule of 8 or 9 regular season home games. This also includes a requirement that teams play at least 1 international game on a rotating basis, of which the Steelers were designated by the NFL to play this season.

Same here. I've never even across the pond, but Ireland is one place I've considered going. If golf and Guiness weren't enough, this might just be the topper I need.

Hmm. This is kind of funny. My wife, son and I always go to an away game every year. This year we have been looking at Chicago. But, my daughter is getting married around the 3rd week of September in Ireland. We have been informed that none of us nor the future son in laws family are invited. They plan to just run off and get married in Ireland and honeymoon over there all by themselves. Wouldn’t it be something if we just showed up for a Steelers game?

I have two trips paid for in October and September covering 6 weekends

I’m not feeling the odds are in my favor

And I’m doubting Mrs jeh1856 will be thrilled in getting off a plane doing laundry and getting on another plane

I wonder how I can get from Zermatt to Dublin and back in one day seems like a long train ride with a ferry involved

I was close enough to see the street lights from the Irish Sea heading to Scotland. Great times the navy were. Now I gotta price airfare and such... hoping it works out

Yep one of the Steelers 9 regular season home games in 2025 will be played in Ireland. Season ticket package will be for 8 regular season games.

As season ticket holder just got an email. Registered to be in a lottery for season ticket holders to get rights to game 9th game in Ireland. Date and time TBD.

also signed up for “advance” rights to buy ticket and travel packages to the game.

Dan Rooney III on playing there.

Can’t wait for him to take over. I just want change, hopefully he runs things a little differently and more importantly, better.

It is the NFL Global Markets program -
First launched in 2022, the Global Markets Program awards NFL clubs international marketing rights to build brand awareness and fandom beyond the U.S., through fan engagement, events and commercial opportunities.
    • Pittsburgh Steelers: Currently with rights in Mexico and the Island of Ireland (both Republic of Ireland & Northern Ireland) -- expanding to Germany
Labriola wrote an article about the 1997 preseason game played there and some of Dan Rooney's history. Nice trophy
