    True. Why do you think it is that 32 NFL owners can agree to salary cap and revenue sharing but the 30 MLB owners won't. Seems like it hurts the sport by creating haves and have nots. Personally, I could care less about baseball but occasionally catch a game just for the atmosphere and something to do.

    Part of it is the way each sport brings in revenue. A much larger part of the revenue streams in baseball is regional. MLB has national television deals, too, but there are also local contracts. It is the nature of the beast with baseball having nearly 10 times as many regular-season games. Attendance is also more of a variable with baseball.

    That said, MLB could do better. It chooses not to, in large part because owners like Nutting don't give a damn about being put at a competitive disadvantage as long as they get to line their pockets.

    Just saw this thread and can't stop laughing. Maybe this thread was for the 60's.

    Pirate organization wipes the butt of Steelers and Penguins organizations.
