There will never be any better nickname than the
    CHIEF
Can somebody remind me what Chuck Noll's nickname was again and how he got it? Drawing a blank right now.

Was there any better time to be growing up a PGH Steeler fan than in the dynasty years?

I feel sorry for these young pups that never got to experience this group of players/team
from (69-79) what a team? What players, not only could they
play football they were also entertainers that would hit you at a moments notice.
God I miss that style of football! Mel Sup Blout , sup short for SUPER.

    :roflmao:

For some reason, this thread reminded me of a post on the old MB years ago now, discussing the merits of a then-newly-promoted Brett Keisel. It said something along the lines of, "You guys only think he's good because his name rhymes with Diesel." Which was a fantastic observation.

Ward, if they grew up with us, they would be awaiting the big DIRT NAP like the rest of us. They got to carry on when we're gone

Not a Steeler but a this guy played for the Pittsburgh Maulers Peep Short. Real name Dan Short from Alaquippa
He was always intercepting the ball. Surprised he never got in the NFL after that league failed
