I'm not sure Tomlin had as much input in who they were drafting early in his career

I think @Blast Furnace@Blast Furnace is referring to Ray Sherman after 98'? If I remember correct, Cowher couldn't ditch him fast enough after the season ended.

No no I have been told a million times on this sight. Tomlin has zero say on who we acquire. Oh wait maybe he does sand all the people that claim he doesn’t is dead wrong

No. You haven’t. You’ve been told correctly that it’s the general managers job to assemble the team. Tomlin has input, but he’s the coach not the gm.

I agree with your statement but many times I have seen people say “that’s not his job AND he has no say in it at all”

I had no idea about the price tag for this guy. This move makes zero sense to me.

We have traded for a lot of “always injured players” that never play. We traded for that stupid chargers TE. I believe there was an often injured 49ers TE we scoped up

Tomlin has a HOF QB for 15 years. How is he doing without a HOF QB. Cowher did decent with crap QBs and won a Super Bowl 33% of the years he had a HOF QB.

Brain fart, Steelersfan, typed OC, meant GM. Yeah, Thor, was talking about Donahue. Thanks.

It is certainly fair to question their judgment of a cornerback on their roster. They apparently blew it on just such an evaluation of Witherspoon.

Wow. Some people really are desperate to avoid giving Tomlin credit for anything.

Well only in bad draft picks. Some of these fans are just ridiculous.

Didn’t you tell anyone who would listen that the Steelers wouldn’t trade Claypool?

I'm not one to bump threads.... but I want to for when people told me no way Claypool would get us a second.

They say he got benched because struggles with zone?

Isn’t that the same situation Artie Burns found himself in?
