July 4, 1976 America's is celebrating it's 200th Birthday and the Germans in Kiel, Germany were kind to us Sailors. They lit up the canal for us. USS Truitt FF-1095. It was a party and I was young and them German lasses loved an American Sailor. Probably my best memory of my time in Eurrope.

I think the biggest stadium in Ireland is around 50,000 seats. ND played ther, but IDK if it is regular season NFL quality.

Thought the N in NFL was for National. Stop the international games already.

    ‘why?

They’ve realized there are a bunch of people who don’t live in the US, but make a lot of money, and can be suckered into being milked.

‘it’s good to look for suckers globally.

The Nigerian soccer team is called the Super Eagles. NFL clearly missed a trick there.

I think it might actually be easier for me to get to a game in Dublin that it was to get to London, timewise. Never been to Croke Park but always wanted to for the history and back when I used to follow the Gaelic Games a bit more closely.

Croke Park is one of Europe's largest stadia, with a capacity of 82,300 and can accommodate all types of events - from field sports to concerts, meetings to tradeshows and bespoke banqueting.

is that current, or the one you said in an earlier post being built? Either way it seems to be the essence for what the NFL is looking for, it might lead to a new division in the future (not sure how they work that out), but Dublin and Ireland is a great destination for most any event.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but
Dan Rooney served as the US Ambassador to
Ireland under the Obama administration. I think the Steelers
have an in in Ireland .lol.

Croke Park was built in 1880 but got a big rebuild about 20 years ago and now holds 80k plus. It’s not as modern as the new NFL stadiums but it is better than a lot of the older ones and is superbly maintained. The Steelers have actually already played there vs the Bears in the late 90’s during the preseason.

A game in Ireland would sell out in no time, the market is relatively small but it’s real easy to get here from anywhere in Europe and the Rooneys have very close ties to Ireland as already mentioned in the thread.

A Steelers game in Dublin would be really cool for me, I have been to NFL games in America but never managed to make a steelers game yet
