    Don't think so.

    Looks like a game manager.

I know it plays a bit to his style of play and probably the Tennessee Oline, but it seems when I was watching SEC pass rushers I saw alot of clips of Joshua Dobbs being sacked.

If he can supplant Landry as the backup in 2 years I'll be happy I guess. I actually liked Dobbs more than most QBs in this draft but I think it speaks to how poor this QB is likely to be.

Very intelligent young man. This alone gives us hope he can improve his game. But his (lack of) accuracy concerns me. Not sure if that can be improved. I still like the kid and wish him the best.

Still an upgrade over LOLandry Jones.

Bottom line: a smarter Kordell. (Fast and looks to run first. Flashy but not consistent). So let's not make the same mistake. Develop him as a QB. OR convert him. Don't try to do both. It'll just hinder his progress as a QB.

Worth the upside. Love the pick. Coach him up for a few years, we have the oline to protect him.

If he's Dak or R. Wilson in 2 years as ben retires it'll keep that window we're all worried about ajar!

My guess is Dobbs outplays Landry in the preseason....the fans all want him at #2...but the FO keeps him at #3 for the year...minus injuries.

Ben's true replacement is still in high school

I thought about Kordell in comparison to him too because both of them have a Hail Mary college highlight. All of Knoxville erupted when Dobbs hit that Hail Mary play. That was all people were talking about around here.

Dobbs is the perfect upgrade for Landry Jones. Next year we can trade all our #30 picks for the number one pick and get a real QB...

Dobbs is a turnover machine. He played in the spread, just like Jones did at OU. He's competition for Mettenberger, not Jones.

What makes you say that? Most people close to the team believe his retirement remarks were made out of frustration. Another significant injury and he may retire. Ashley whispering in his ear has some influence to be sure. He wants to win another Super Bowl though, so I think there is a better chance he signs another deal than he retires after this year.

I think minimum of 2 more years.

You know he wants that 3rd SB ring. With this roster, he can taste it.

1 up on Eli. Guaranteed HOF.

    Keep him healthy.

    Several reasons.

Age, he's 35, playing out his contract means he'll be 38, I just don't see that happening.

Drafting of a QB now tells me he was a lot closer to retiring this season then people think. I think that 30 mil was probably the biggest reason he came back.

Will he physically be able to? Taken a heck of a beating in his career, I think he played on a bad knee all last season, its why he was sailing passes so much, couldn't step into them.

Other priorities? Has a family now, ties into physical reason above, Im sure he'd like to play catch with his son when he gets older enough. And as you said, his wife whispering inches ear.

Frustration with the team, he made several eye raising comments during the season.

Dobbs is nothing more than camp meat. Bens replacement is not on the roster yet, nor will he be for another year or two. Head scratcher to me is why they pick a qb backup in the 4th instead of another potential impact player with a chance to play.

Future backup at best, a Landry Jones replacement, not a Ben replacement. If he somehow does turn into a starter, great, but I don't see it.

We've been saying that for like the past 5 seasons. We might not wanna draft this kid is if he can't even graduate from high school.

Unless J. Dobbs improves on his accuracy he will be nothing
more than a genius back up capable of 2-3 game per year
ala Landry Jones. Oh well a qb will be needed down the road
and fairly quickly.Tee Martin all over again.Nice gig if you can get it.

There's a difference between "future starter" and "Bens replacement".

If you don't see the difference, you're in for a long decade or so.

I like the pick - if he's less statuesque in the pocket than Jones, and makes the reads quicker, then it's a solid move in the 4th.

Let's see how it goes in camp I guess.

Our next franchise QB is definitely in HS like Hack said. With the realization in mind that we will never beat the pats as long as Brady is around. I have the master plan....Ben retires now effective immediately and stays retired until Brady hangs them up. Because we will be picking in the top 10 for a couple years we will be able to truly build a great roster through the draft. Marsha retires....Ben comes back well rested and healed both mentally and physically from his time in Tibet and 7-8-9 here we come. Desperate times call for desperate measures.....:hehehe:
