Pissed off and rightfully so. The race starts in Staten Island, Staten Island hasn't received any help at all yet, people on the news today were begging for aid, it would have been in such poor taste to hold a marathon, especially considering all the busses needed to transport the runners to the starting line, all the while people whose houses and towns were destroyed were still awaiting the first signs of aid.

It really is hard to get your mind around the severity of it, if you don`t live there.
After reading the article that MojavedesertSteeler fan posted...
    I have to agree...
No reason this game shouldn`t have been moved to Pittsburgh, or a neutral site, outside of New York/New Jersey...
(Of course, I`m not a Giant`s season ticket holder, or fan with tickets to the game... they may have a different perspective...)...
On a side note, it never dawned on me until this, that the brand new stadium built for New York`s teams to share, isn`t technically , IN, New York... ...
    Kinda odd, huh?
I understand the premium for land in the small state of New York, but still...
Shouldn`t the stadium for your pro sports team, be in the state they are named for?!? :o
Anyhow... just kidding around about that. Simply surprised me, that I hadn`t thought about it before, `till my gf`s daughter`s boyfriend, pointed it out.
Prayers, and best wishes to all who are personally dealing with this disaster.

They wanted to build the new stadium on the west side of Manhattan but MSG fought it because of the close proximity to the Garden. They also got the community involved in their dispute stating traffic and quality of life conditions. In the end they were denied and the teams had to stay in Jersey.

Exactly right. Just one more reason I can't stand Dolan. Would have been so much easier to see my Steelers when they played the Jets and Giants :frustrated:

Although I hated having to do it- I cancelled my trip to see the game Sunday. I live about 300 miles or so from the stadium, but was planning on a drive down in 2 parts this time.

The real issue for me had to with the gas shortages. That's the short reason- if you want to hear the long reason, read on, otherwise skip the next section.

My plan was to drive down today to Albany NY, where I had a nice hotel room booked, and then drive down and back to the game (about a 300 mile round trip, but believe me, that's usually no biggie for me to do in a day). Given the hotel situation close to the stadium, this seems like a more and more prescient idea. Anyway, although the Albany area is ok - my concern is due to the fuel shortages. Even a few miles south of Albany, there are massive lines for gas, and assuming I start my trip to the stadium with a full tank, I am still not sure that I'd have enough for a round trip, given the fuel situation, my car's small tank and not great mileage, traffic jams causing even worse mileage, etc.

I also spoke to some people who are in the area and they all advised me not to try and go, saying that the situation and roads around there are really bad. So, yesterday morning, I put my ticket and parking pass on Stubhub for what I paid them, thinking that if they sold, I'd cancel my trip, but if not, I'd try and make it. It took about 15 minutes to sell the game ticket and 90 minutes to sell the parking pass.

So I am back, even steven. I am really upset to miss this game- I don't get many chances to see the Steelers play unless I want to fly to the Burgh (which I've done, trust me). I am also a NJ native and used to live about 10 miles from the stadium as a youth (although that did not keep me from being a Steelers fan).

The NFL has missed the boat on this one (perhaps literally). They should have moved it to Pittsburgh and used the ticket sales to refund the Giants season ticket holders. The Giants as we all know, are much better on the road than at home anyway.

if they canceled the game it would be a nightmare to reschedule it. they already had their bye week. they had to play it. they could have moved it to a nuetral site, but there is no way they could have canceled it. its not like MLB were 1 game probably doesnt matter. in a 16 game season they have to play every game. especially for 2 teams that look to be in the thick of the playoffs.
