I'm not a fan of Foster, but I'm ok with this move. Keeping continuity along the line of the league's best offense can't be a bad thing. I still hope they address LG in the draft. Or do they like Finney for that? Pretty sure Hubbard is not the future there.

The links aren't the problem. I think there was a little flak from copy and pasting that pushed the no link thing into being due to anger....IIRC.

They can take care of DeCastro during training camp, which they tend to do contract extensions during that time.

I don't think Vick is under contract, I thought he signed a 1 yr deal so good riddance to him.

It was a 1 yr. deal as far as I can remember... Hope we've learned that lesson and let him keep walking. HOWEVER I don't know with this team all of a sudden. Fingers crossed he stays home

Hmm, I can't remember, but it sounds like the "old board".

    We're glad, too. ;+)

That sounds familiar. Dumb, but familiar. Copy paste all you want. Giving attribution to the author is good form.
    Yup, 1 year deal. He's a FA.

Sounds like Foster's deal was 3 years for $9.6 Mil including a $2.75M SB.

So that is like 2.3 a year right? Man we can't complain about that, I just check and that puts him just outside the top 15 avg per year at LG. I think that tells us all something, people know how close we are and want to be here. Boone just got 6.7 per and Osemele got 11.7 per, I am sure Foster could have got more.....I like it.

This is a BARGAIN for a starting left guard. There are a lot of important pieces falling into place at pay levels that are a bit surprising.

wow and the guy at the other guard spot making over 8 almost 9 mil.. hmmmm. also quite the difference in tackle pay too. its like the steelers are backwards compared to the rest of the league. our left side is highly under paid compared to the right. at least by league averages. strange.:cool:

Might be the smart way to do business. When the market dictates that certain positions are paid more than others, then retain the best players at the positions that are undervalued. Pay less for good players.

I was thinking the same thing. Also, it's a line that now seems to consist of first/second round picks and UDFAs in equal measure.

we are very lucky we had a few guys that wanted to stay to win it with their team and a guy we gave a huge chance to, that has stepped up above and beyond. home town discounts. gay could have gotten more. ramon could have gotten more. golden is getting his chance and possibly could have gotten more. DHB has turned into a great find for what we use him as and cheaply. AV has been a stunning find and is at the stage of coming cheaply because of CBA and NFL rules. we have fallen into a great situation and guys have seen a good opportunity given them.

I love these contracts being given out by the Steelers, while every other team is paying through the nose and destroying the market, the Steelers just go about doing their thing.

    Got to love this organization.

We've spent $46M total for 3-4 year deals on William Gay, Ramon Foster, Ladarius Green, Robert Golden, and Darrius Heyward-Bey.

That is fantastic. Look at the money being handed out elsewhere...

Since denver won the SB with their pass rush, all these other teams have went pass rush crazy, I'm surprised that the giants would fall into this trap paying 85 mill for a pass rusher and the jags forking over 90 mill for a rusher, wake up NFL that isnt the only position on defense, even the cards are whining about how much they need pass rushers...........

I was very surprised by the Giants too, they are very much in the mold of how the Steelers operate. This is a huge change of direction for them.
