Steelers "Finalizing" Deal With Ramon Foster

Sounds good! The Steelers are doing some serious work right now. Let's get our guys locked up, clear out some space and try to find a FA starter in the secondary.

It would be nice if the Steelers would sign a outside free agent though .

 

How hopeful were you Mac that although he was able to move to any position on the line that he would after establishing himself as the LT? I mean it was a slim hope wasn't it?

 

I know but they could use a veteran free agent signing in the secondary, I don't want them to settle and re-sign Blake just because it will be cheap.

 

just read on Rotoworld, that Gerry Dulac thinks the Steelers are intent on signing Beachum to a one year deal. Any one confirm?

 

If they could re-sign Beachum that would be a good move on a 1 year prove it deal, per Gerry Dulac.

 

Sweet, now if we resign Mclendon and Gradkowski I'll be happy...

 

I really don't know about Beachum. AV looked like he was really getting it down the stretch. Look what he was able to do against the Broncos in the playoffs. This could set him back a bit. Remember he's not a young guy either.

Just having a hard time with AV getting put back on the bench after what he's shown he's capable of in less than a year of starting and his prototypical size versus Beachum's undersized overachiever tenacity.

Foster's deal is final now. 3 years. Dollars not announced yet.

 

I don't think the FO will do anything in free agency until after the draft.

 

I'm not anti foster as some. I think the front office is trying to keep everyone familiar and not make any major changes.
As for Beachem I don't see him signing a prove it deal. Some one will throw some money at him.
I like having AL V, I think he did a great job and is only going to get better.
But, we have zero depth at tackle positions. Will have to draft for sure and maybe sign a FA.

 

I would rather hear they are finalizing a deal with Decastro, as some have said AV played well at LT so there is no priority at that position where as we need to get Decas signed up........

 

At the rate their going, I think they'll take care of Decastro. I'm totally with you on that.

 

I wouldn't even offer Beachum anything. I think we have the makings of a great LT in AV. You know he has the work ethic and size to be great.
