Steelers fans shut up!

I'm so sick of reading these negative threads about My Steelers from some of you that I could puke. Cut it out already! So we lost a game and looked flat in some area's, it's not the end of the world. This is a team that I love and would fight for (have done it). I support these players even when they have a bad game. I've heard more Smack talk from so called Steeler fans about the Steelers this last week than I've ever heard from the Steeler haters. Makes me wonder! How about we support the team instead if calling for their heads.

The reason we can rip in to them so much is because we ARE TRUE FANS. It's the same priniciple as when you are part of a family. If you wanna say something bad about your brother that's fine. But if I say something bad about your brother you would defend him and be mad at me. I feel like as a guy that spends my money on this teams merch and tickets and buys Sunday Ticket JUST so I can watch everything they do I have the right to say anything I want to about them. BUT let a Ravens fan come in here and start talking smack and it'll be on like neck bone!

 

Yeah we are just fans blowing off some steam as soon as we win all will be fine in steelerville again

 

SG, I appreciate the sentiment, but if you don't want to hear anything negative about the Steelers then a message board is probably not the best place to hang out. As has been pointed out, it is very therapeutic for many of us to get on here and blow off steam after a sucky performance by our team. We are all still Steeler fans, but if we don't have the ability to vent a little then we may kick the dog or do something like that and then the wife would be mad. You know what I mean? In fact, if there is one thing most of us don't like after we lose and stink up the joint it's an eternal optimist. Now some us can tend to be a little unreasonable at times but there are times when we can post some valid concerns about the team, the players and the coaching staff. It's all part of being a fan.

Now I have a favor to ask. Will you please not hit me?? raying:

 

It's funny that you talk about the wife! My wife only likes college football and when people are always talking to her about how obsessed I am with the Steelers and they say "well you must really like them too..." and she's like "well I don't really care. but I only root for them because when they are losing my house is a miserable place to live" LOL! She's right though.

 

Don't read it if you don't like it. Its part of being a professional athlete to take criticisim. Hell I am willing to bet the players don't care as much as you do..

Being a fan is never having to say your sorry lol .. Just because your a fan does not mean you have to drink the kool aid.. I have been a fan prolly longer then you so I am entitled

It is so funny the amount of people that wear rose colored glasses, They need to go to
thier childrens soccer games and make sure all the kids play and also make sure all of
them wind up with trophy's after the season is over. Just because we want to see
the Steelers be there very best, and feel we may have some insight into what might make them
better or more EXCITING doesn't make us less of a fan than you are. Please get to the soccer field now.

Opening game 97 season. Bunch of Cowboys fans at a bar talking smack all day long to the point where enough was enough.

 

I have coached/ managed a traveling select youth baseball team for the last 6 years. Playing time and awards are based on your play and attendance to practice and games. sometimes kids are not asked back the following year. I don't believe in the "every kid should get a trophy" and the "you're all winners" crap, but nice try though. My son plays baseball, football and basketball and has seen his fair share of the bench in each sport over the years. He knows how I feel and that's if you want more playing time you need to work harder.

 

Have to go to work soon. I usually have a long, thought out response. But others are making some of those points anyway.

The short version: We're all die hard fans. Some people express it differently than others. In the end, we're all brothers and sisters in Black and Gold.[/quote:hxcz31b0]

Oh yes the old standard "if you don't like it don't read it" response. I have my criticisims at times too, but you have to admit some of the posts are just way overboard. As far as puffing out our chest as to who has been a fan longer, well I'm 42 and have been a fan since I was 7!

 

I think if you have read some of my responses I hardly think the Sky is falling for the PGH Steelers,
I am a realist though, and think/hope that the Steelers can improve in most areas. AND AS I SAID IT DOES NOT MAKE
ME MORE OR LESS OF A FAN THAN YOU. By the way I have us going 11-5 just for the record, so am I a sky
falling type of guy? I don't think so.

 

Look Jack I'm not saying I don't want to read anything negative about the Steelers at all, but a good portion of the posts are just plain overboard and in alot of cases inaccurate.
