He put up great numbers against two truly horrid defenses.

So how come Rudolph and Pickett couldn’t put up those kind of numbers against horrid defenses.

It’s the NFL, that kind of performance is hard no matter who you are playing.

No, that simply isn't true. That other quarterbacks fell is not evidence that Pickett would have fallen.

Also, there is no evidence at all that their draft plan changed because Haskins died. That is just made-up nonsense.

Rudolph couldn't do it because he is a mediocre player. Pickett was saddled with a bad situation for two years, then got hurt before he really got to take advantage of Canada being gone. Remember also that Fields did that in his third season. We haven't seen Pickett's third season yet.

That is my problem with Fields. He still couldn't put up numbers against good defenses three seasons into his career. More importantly, he consistently failed in the fourth quarter, which was when Pickett was at his best.

So what I'm seeing is people talking about tds scored, but not the turnovers at the inopportune times that actually lost the games. LoL

Yes, but it is also interesting to note that sometimes you want to focus on touchdowns while ignoring everything else, but other times you want to criticize other posters for doing the same thing.

Dan Moore would qualify as a development player. How is he doing?

Chicago is where QB careers go to die, before last season Fields best WR was Mooney, Fields didn't get along with the OC they had he wasn't any good.

Last season he had a stud receiver, better than anyone the Steelers had, and a very good tight end. He still wasn't good outside of two games.

Not worried about Fields. Today, Russ is QB1. Fields needs to learn from Smith and Russ this season.

If the Steelers take a RT at #20, I would not be surprised at all to see Dan Moore get traded during the draft.

You have a late round pick in Spencer Anderson from last year, and then the Dylan Cook, a free agent they kept on the 53 man roster for the entire year last year, despite the fact that he was not active for a single game. To move a player to your practice squad you first have to waive them, and something tells me the Steelers were afraid of not getting Cook back if they released him from the 53 man roster.

The weight I see listed everywhere is from his college playing Days 6'6 and 305 where he went from a QB to an OT in 2 years. I would love to know what his real weight is when training camp begins this year.

Better than the Steelers group of QBs, the Bears OL is trash too.

well if you win games by stats but that isn't the case. i do believe that bad steelers group of qb's won 10 games. how many did fields win with better stats? who cares if we throw for 3 yards a game but win them. one stat matters.

From the Article: He was 290 when he was playing QB at Montana state northen. The university of Montana had him down his Junior year at 305 playing RT. I would hope he has spent some more time in the Gym and is now weighing 325+.

LOL... I love this freshman picture.

Fields first two years the Bears OL was trash, they were pretty good but gave up 44 sacks in 2023 .

Sacks % for the bears QB last season

    Fields(10.6% sacks...44 sacks in 370 pass attempts)...His backup,Tyler Bagent,3.4% sacks,5 sacks on 143 pass attempts

Fields has some potentiel but he hold the ball way too long too,so you can't blame just the bears o-line for the sacks when it was not a problem with his backup in 4 starts for him

Exactly. Fields does not read defenses well and he holds the ball way too long, both of which contribute to way too sacks and turnovers.
