One of the biggest difference between Steelers dynasty (1970's) and Patriots dynasty (2000's and 2010's) is that the Patriots only has ONE HOFer Tom Brady in during their run compared that to 9 HOFers for the 1970's team. That is totally unbelievable. Nearly 2 decades and only Tom Brady will be in the HOF. The 49ers dynasty has about 7 HOFers. Unbelievable. I guess Brady is a GOAT and God of NFL. Much as I hate Brady, you have to respect that team and Brady for what they have accomplished.

Never thought about that. Interesting indeed. Hate saying this but Billifuc knows how to get the most out of a player.

Don't forget Adam V is also a reason they have at least 2 of their wins and he will be a HOF but yes to your general point.

Never thought of that either. I guess you could say that Seau played for the Pat's at the end of his career. That would be a second. James Harrison plays there. He might be a hall of fame. Hahaha lol. Just kidding. Too soon, too soon.

You really can't even compare dynasties pre and post free agency/salary cap. Teams were harder to build back then but way easier to hold together. The last two decades of dominance in an era designed to prevent it will never be equaled under the current system. BB is a better team builder than he is a coach and THAT is saying something.

one true HOFer in nearly 2 decades of dominance is truly amazing.

IMO, I think Brady is the best "system" QB ever and Belicheat is the best system coach ever. That improbable combo happening to get together has staying power for winning if the QB stays healthy and the coach is not fired and that is what happened.

I guess Gronk will eventually be in the HOF.

That's not true. Junior Seau is in the hall. Vinatieri will be in the hall, as will Gronk and Randy Moss. My guess is so will Rodney Harrison, Richard Seymour and Ty Law. Perhaps even Bruschi. I might even be missing some.

    Randy Moss
    Ty Law
    Gronk (will be)
    Wes (might be)

Its a bit of a myth that NE wins with a bunch of nobodies. Lot of great players dont make the HOF. I dont feel like pouring over their roster for the last 17 years, those listed above were off the top of my head.

It's not entirely a myth, although I agree they have had a lot of great players over the years. The thing the Pats seem to be able to do is lose star players and not miss a beat. They went 11-5 when Brady went down. They have traded away almost all their star players before they were past their prime and they continued rolling. They have also made numerous trades that seemingly made no sense at the time and that the talking heads said would hurt them (such as Chandler Jones) and didn't miss a beat. They suffer injuries (Edelman and Gronk) and keep rolling. What they employ is a true next man up system. The next guy up is expected to perform at a high level and that always seems to happen.

A lot of times players also seem to play far better on the Patriots than on other teams. Look at Randy Moss. A lot of people thought his career was all but over. That system just seems to breed success

Because who in their right mind would call 8 super bowls in 17 years a dynasty. They have only been in almost half of all the superbowls played since 2001.

Dynasty is when you have your whole group of guys together for the whole run...only brady and billicheat are the ones from all 5 titles, they have replaced many pieces..that's not a dynasty ,that's a good run...Chicago Bulls were a dynasty, because all the major pieces were all together during 6 championship s.

If you go by that standard there hasn't been a NFL dynasty since the salary cap free agency era and there can't be. Too much turn over from year to year.
