Harvin was pretty good on occasion, but mostly awful.
    I wish Trubisky well.
IMHO O’Chloroform should have been gone two years ago. When they had him and Trai Turnstile I feared for the life of whoever was under center,
Wonder if they will sign the Reindeer? He had no bites on his line last FA period, but might get a nibble this time because he played pretty well in a small sample of games. I heard that he wants a fresh start, but would a two year contract be fresh enough?
This is a relatively quiet but interesting offseason.

Wasn't Chuks due a March roster bonus?

$4m due mid march but there is still no need to cut him this early. Maybe they made a few calls and knew there was no market. Chuks wasn’t great but there are worse tackles starting in the league week in week out.

Definitely wouldn’t surprise me if he did a Dotson and improved with a new team and different situation but we will see

Maybe they are also just looking to do him a solid, releasing him now lets him get ahead of free agency.

It should surprise you if Okorafor suddenly improved with another team. Dotson always had the physical tools and the aggressive approach necessary to be a very good NFL guard. The Steelers couldn't get him to stop making so many mistakes. Maybe it was poor coaching. Maybe it was playing him on the left side when he was more comfortable on the right. Maybe being traded for a late draft pick woke him up. Maybe it was a combination of those things, but the physical and mental ability were there.

Okorafor is a different story. He's weak at the point of attack. He lacks aggressiveness. The lack of strength and physicality aren't as easy to fix as sloppy mistakes.

That’s fair, he is soft and hasn’t developed to his potential. I was listening to the Ramon Foster show today in the car and he was saying that when he was drafted they thought he was going to be an absolute stud, he has al the traits you’d want.

I expect he will get a ‘prove it’ deal this offseason somewhere and will get a chance to turn things around but maybe it’s just not in him

Anyone here doubt these three stooges would be cut<crickets chirping>?

So, it’s not so much who they did release, rather the important thing to note is who they didn’t. Cole, Larry O, and oddly Robinson. Draft speculation.

    :hmm:

That is exactly why they cut all 3 when they did

He has the physical traits, but that doesn't mean a thing if the proper mental approach isn't there. Talk about technique and physical gifts all you want, but it's still football. At some point, you have to hit someone and try to drive them onto their back. He doesn't seem to care about that and he ends up getting shoved backward far too often.

cutting allen robinson and patrick peterson would give us 16.85 million towards the cap. we signed marquez callaway that could produce as much as robinson did for them last year, at a fraction of the cost. our top 4 would be johnson, pickens, austin and callaway. not a bad 4.

CB needs to be addressed. sounds like they are in negotiations with chandon sullivan. he could take that slot position. we need a starter opposite JPJ. i'd try to keep kazee around since he's pretty position versatile. riley and thompson could be good depth. thompson i'd like to see take that strong safety spot.
