Steelers continue streak of non-losing seasons

I know as a fan base you can't help but feel screwed over three times with what occurred in the KC SD game what with the (1) missed kick by Succop (2) the missing of the penalty on that kick and then (3) the fake punt being returned for a TD being ruled down despite no whistle.

But one very small shred of delight in the Steelers finishing 8-8 for the 2013 season. The Steelers now have a streak of 10 straight non-losing seasons. There last one was the 2003 season when they finished 6-10, the year before Ben arrived and the 15-1 season happened. The Patriots are the only team with a longer streak and they actually have a longer one and incidentally they have had all winning seasons - I think they are at something like 13 or 14 seasons in a row.

But anyway that does speak a lot for the Steelers organization, basically the Steelers have either been in the playoffs or had a chance for the playoffs going into the final game of the year in all but a couple of those seasons. So granted it isn't much but tip your hat discretely for the 8-8 finish...especially when after a 0-4 start we were thinking they might lose 10+ games.

 

I can't be happy about mediocrity. I think we have enough talent on this team to be 10-6, if not better, so no, I refuse to be happy about an 8-8 season, even if we did finish 0-4.

 

I'm not happy about mediocrity either, but the point of the thread is to indicate the team is always competitive and along with those 10 years there is also quite a few years of excellence mixed in there as well.

That's the total BS Browns fans have to deal with.

 

If 8-8 isn't a losing season, it sure isn't a winning season either, steeler fans don't recognize 8-8 anything more than a losing season, 8-8 sucks and it really sucks after 2 years in a row, it's an indicator of under performing coaches and players performing at a 50% level...

 

Maybe you should ask all the no shows
