I remember a few years ago when the Vikings roared out to a 5-0 start and I told someone they could walk into the playoffs, then they started dropping games left and right. So yeah fast starts are nice but strong seasons are better

You're right he ultimately gets credit for win and losses but individual players should called out when they cost us opportunities too. Giving Ben a pass blaming rust is a stretch. He is a highly paid professional veteran QB. At some point he has to be held accountable for his screw ups.

Yeah, yeah....we get your narrative already. "Steelers will never win another game until they give the GOAT RB, Le'veon Bell a $350 million, 3 year contract ($300 million guaranteed), because James Conner sucks." I'm pretty sure you could inject it into any comment on this board, but you really should find something else to worry about.

Ben will be fine. It was a bad game and Ben probably knows it more than any of us. He will be fine though. Lots of frustrating things happened today, but many good things as well. Gotta take the good and bad and move on. We’ll have our hands full next week so let’s stay focused!

No, no, no. He doesn't get a pass at all. Lack of preparation falls just as much on him. I get that older players want to take it easy in camp. But this is what happens.

I dont think they'd win a sb with bell either. I'd give them a really slim punchers on the fact they'd have the 2 best players on offense at their positions but not with this coaching staff nor defense will we see a sb.

Tomlin's the Frick'n coach of this team, ultimately the buck must stop with him. Holy Cr@p!
    godzilla-face-palm.png

TJ, Conner, Hilton (as usual), all great.
Dupree, Switzer, Cam, and Sutton decent

Huge Ben fan, but whoa. Bad today. I don't think I've seen his pocket awareness this bad since maybe his rookie year.
I didn't like what I saw from the receivers today.
Basically, the offense sucked except for Connor. We ran him all game.

Winners: Connor, Watt, Switzer, Hilton, Davis (can't believe I'm saying this)

Losers: Refs for somehow missing the punt clearly hitting the Browns player, NFL office in NY for somehow also not seeing the punt hit the guy, the ball changing direction, or the guy flinching after he was hit, Fichtner, Ben, Burns

That is of course if you believe anything he says to the press. I dont believe he did not prepare. The overall defensive play showed me they did practice and plan for the clowns. The offense not so much however the conditions were terrible and neither team was lighting it up. I feel like Ben and Fitchner need a ton of work.. I believe last year Ben started out with a 5 interception game... The last few years he starts out totally rusty and ill prepared.

I think they worked a lot on their wish list for the playbook. Moving guys around getting Mac alone on space, check downs to RB. I don't think they made a game plan to attack the Browns defense. Garrett reminds me of Jared Allen, I'd have let him come and thrown screens or draws right at the hole he created.

Winner: The NFL as the men in stripes have finally gotten enough camera time to merit selling advertising on their shirts. New revenue stream! Throw that dirty laundry.

Seriously. Ben was awful, just awful. Money missed a kick he never misses. Dupree failed contain several times. Sutton was okay most of the day, but got schooled on a big play. Conner...loved his game but for the one mistake. Burns lost it between the ears. I could go on, but there was plenty of sloppy to go around. But in the end, since fans always like to find one thing that was wrong and one thing to point at...it ain't rocket science...turnovers, folks, turnovers. Secure the rock.

You can always count on Ben to have one of these games per year. Get it over with early this year and focus on the rest of the year

I really didn't think there were that many losers.

Ben by far had the worst game out of anyone.

AV had a tough matchup. Held his own for most of the game. Garrett is a beast and will assert himself as one of the games top pass rushers this season. I was off the mark in my evaluation of him coming out of college.

Sutton and Haden probably hard the worst games on defense but Sutton had the nice INT.

If we tied on a bright sunny day I'd be more worried. Bad weather will always keep a game closer between a good team and a bad team. The weather killed our passing game. And Ben still threw over 300 yards.

    Winners:
Switzer - we finally have a decent returner not called AB
Connor - turns out we’re generally alright without Bell, for now
The secondary for much of the game - good coverage and only a few mistakes

    Losers:
    The passing game
Boswell - the weather likely played a factor for both

A disappointing game, but at least there are some different things we’re doing right

Shutting down the offense in the 4th quarter is the reason for the loss. Of course that's not on Teflon Tomlin though.

    Winners:
    Cleveland’s winless streak continues
(Ha ha — To quote Nelson from The Simpsons)

    Losers:
All us fans. I had to change my shirt from all the virtual vomit I hurled watching that joke of a game. Team just choked. Great way to start the season. Sigh...

Give one of those interceptions to the Outlaw, went right thru his hands and to a Browns player.

I think the Steelers are not as good as we want them to be, and the Browns aren’t as bad as they have been. But being a seasoned team, think the Steelers will get better.

    I also want to mention:

    Winners:
Whoever didn’t draft Chubb. That guy nearly got his QB killed.
