Steelers box score versus Saints

But how many defenders did our guys beat off? I don't think that was displayed either in the box score. We can no loose any more games!

I look at the box score after every game. One of the first things that I do after the game.

I check the stats after every game. How else are you supposed to know how a certain player played during the game?

 

A fact I was unaware of until today. That was the most rushing yards by the Steelers in one game since 2016 . hmmm

 

Most sports score apps have stats you can look at during the game. Gives individual and team for both sides. Why wait until after the game? JMO>

 

Some of us just enjoy the box

What if it stinks? ... this year has been a pretty stinky box for most game.

 

Gotta have a complete box to get the full picture. Agreed

 

Not many great boxes this year for sure. But any good box is a complete box.

Need to let all those fantasy participants know this as I am sure they are tracking whomever they are tracking for some odd reason. JMO>

 

I've been checking the box scores ever since I learned to read. I still have a book with the box scores from all the 70's games. When you look at some of them you wonder how the hell we won the game. Some of Bradshaw's numbers are what some QB's throw up in one half in today's NFL.

 

Look at what other quarterbacks were doing. It wasn't much different, especially before the rule changes in 1978.

Look at the undefeated 1972 Dolphins. Bob Griese missed a big chunk of the season with injury and threw for only 638 yards, but Earl Morrall led them with 1,360. As a team, they barely went over 2,000 yards passing. Hall of Fame wide receiver Paul Warfield led them with 606 yards receiving. That was for a full, 14-game season. That would place him 16th in the NFL in 2022 even though we are only 10 weeks into the season.

They also had two 1,000-yard rushers (Csonka and Morris), and a third over 500 (Kiick).

It wasn't a fluke, either Griese led them with 1,422 yards passing for the season in 1973. There are 27 quarterbacks with more than that 10 weeks into the 2022 season. Warfield had 514 yards, also tops on his team. That would be 30th in the NFL through 10 weeks of the 2022 season.
