    Actually, I`m quite confused.
It basically said that all the 9 draft picks should get a base pay of 390,000.
So that`s approx. 3.5 mill. (equally for 9 players, but how can the 1st rounder make what the 7th rounder makes?)
Then it started talking about pro-rated signing bonuses, etc, and said something about this draft class costing approx. 28.9 mill...
(not sure how any of that is calculated, as far as total value of contracts, opposed to year by year, or if signing bonuses are counted, or if "deferred" signing bonuses(Mike ADams), are taken into account)...
    HUH?!?!
This is one reason I hate thinking about the "money side" of the game...
Aside from the obscene amounts of money involved, the rules make my head swim!
(Thank You Omar Khann, or whatever your name is, for being a complete wizard, at all of this!! )
Basically, I have been trying to figure out two things...
#1... I thought we were roughly 9 million under the cap,(not counting the 2.9 or so for Mike`s tender) BEFORE the draft, and I was wondering how we could sign all our draftees, and have ANYTHING to offer Wallace, beyond his tender, with those limited resources?
I understand that what we offered Wallace in years 2 thru whatever wouldn`t count on this year`s books, but if we sign him long term, the FIRST year, still counts against this year`s cap, right? (Not even gonna worry about the "signing bonus, there, `cause I know they can do tricks to spread it out over the contract, etc)
    #2...
And this is what I really wanna know...
How does the new "rookie" payscale work?
Is it just "x" amount of dollars to pick #1, "y" amount of dollars to pick #2, "Z" amount of dollars to pick #3, etc?
I`m not even asking about the new length of contract rules, just the money.
Seems like the agents would hate that.
What would their job be, if every player knew what he was getting paid, based on where they get drafted?
Yeah, I know the agents would have all kind of answers for that, like negotiating bonuses, incentives, commercial sponsorships, etc...
Anyhow, any light shed on how the new rookie scale works, would be appreciated. :hehehe:
Del, have you found the board yet? :superman:

bleed, i think, and i'm not certain about this but, i read decastro will cost us about 1.5 mil towards the cap. so out of the 5 mil. pool, he counts 1.5 mil and as they drop in rounds picked that number should come down with each players seeding. adams for instance may cost 1 mil towards the cap, so out of that pool, these two cost 2.5 mil of the 5 mil. pool. i think this is how it is set up.
