Our improved D is definitely better than the Chiefs D (Thanks for Nelson, Chiefs!)... probably Dallas D, too. But both Chiefs and Cowboys are better on O... for now.

When you consider the teams we've lost to are 31-6 and two of those losses are because those teams played each other. In a year with a lot of parity. I'd say yeah we are but with that said if we won one of those games I could see the refs screwing us in one of the last two games. I think our record is right on par with where we should be. Elite defense carrying a below average offense.

We are what our record says we are, I would rather be better than the Cowboys and Chiefs at the end of the season, rather than at the halfway point.

I been saying this for weeks that 9-7 gets this team in the playoffs as long as one of the 4 wins they need to still get to get to 9 wins is Buffalo here at home on December 15th. I have no doubt at this point this team is more then likely going to make the playoffs, and I think has a good chance of at least winning one game and potentially making it to Divisional weekend. A win tomorrow night against the Browns and a loss by the Ravens Sunday to Houston pulls the Steelers within one game of the Ravens in the AFC North and the Steelers at that point will control their own destiny as far as winning the AFC North over the Ravens is concerned.

    Hey Disco.

Trust me my friend I feel your frustration. I think in part I know what has happened here. For many of us, "the rug was pulled out" from underneath us very abruptly regarding the personnel that we had on the "O". One moment we had a "Bomb Squad" on "O". Just last year. we had B, B, B, and with them, and not that long ago, another B (Martavis) and Heath. I may also be missing someone else.

We were stacked at "O". Oppositions really did not know how to cover all of are weapons. Because they really could not. I was ecstatic with pure joy regarding all of our arsenal. You probably felt the same way as many others did I am sure. Even though that 30-Point a game talk rarely happened (remember that?). Nevertheless we were "STACKED" on "O". Man, I was pumped we had so many weapons.

Then out of left field, just like that (snap of the fingers) it was all gone. All of them taken away from us. Basically all gone in one year. especially, B, B, and B. Now we have to re-tool with a whole new set of skilled players on the "O". We feel cheated, robbed. Actually, some may even be in "shock". How we went from the mountain peak to the base so quickly in regards to the talent level on the "O".

I am not saying that the current guys do not have talent, they just need some time to find their ways and build chemistry. Hey, it could be worse, they could all be rookies. I think that in the long run they will be okay. Probably not as dynamic as the old "O" but still good. Also, it would not have been as frustrating, or as difficult, if at least the main "Cog" (Ben) was still playing. Although, he was not lighting it up at the beginning of the season either. Although, that may in part be due to his injury that was probably already onset.

I know we talk about some folks wanting immediate gratification for all sorts of things in life. This may be something that some of us are guilty of here for this situation. We know what we had with the old "O" and want it replaced right now with the new "O". I wish it was that simple. Maybe that explains some of what you are feeling. I think it did for me. I already knew it was for me. I do feel robbed. Who knew the 3 Bs were all going to go out at the same time basically. That was/is the real kick in the @ss. Take care. STEELWINDS

When I saw the power rankings, which is pretty meaningless to me, I was elated the Steelers were that high. I think we should be lower. Regardless, I'm very proud what this group of men have done this season after their HOF QB bit the dust.

I think it is just about right. I am a 1/2 glass full type
of guy. And hoping that we can play sound fundamental football
and our offense can improve. I think 5 more wins may get us in playoffs.

The defense is greatly improved, but they are counting far too much on turnovers. Yes, a lot of that is skill. The Steelers are good at stripping the ball. The defensive backs are doing a better job actually catching potential interceptions more than they have in recent years. The pressure they put on the quarterback also creates turnovers. That said, it's still a tough thing to count on all the time.

It looks like they will be counting on them again tonight. The Browns can move the ball. They have excellent skill players on offense, especially the running backs and receivers. Their downfalls seem to fall into the Steelers' hands. They don't protect Mayfield well and they turn the ball over too much. If the turnovers don't come tonight, the Steelers could be in trouble.

I still don't trust the offense to do much. Rudolph is too slow in his reads and too inconsistent in his throws. The receiving corps just isn't good enough. Getting Conner back helps, but the running game is still limited if Nix can't return.

The Steelers have been a mix of lucky and good lately. The former doesn't tend to hold for long.

I’m thinking if we can’t stop the run or get turnovers tonight we can lose pretty bad

    Hey Scribe.

Yes, The "D" has been phenomenal. Especially, with the acquisition of Minkah. It is amazing the catalyst that he has been for this unit and the team as a whole. It is contagious. I least "I" think he has been the catalyst but lets give credit to the other 10 men that play along side of him as well.

I think that the one thing that I am feeling a bit more comfortable about with the "D" is their ability and our trust in them to hold a lead. I know that it has just started but maybe we have turned a corner on that aspect. Given that, we are going to have to continue to lean on them for the immediate future of this season. Hopefully, the "O" and "STs" start contributing a little bit more each week. Even if it is converting just one turnover into a TD versus a FG.

For years the "O" has carried us and now the "D" is reciprocating the love. Given that, and if we all continue to have big aspirations for the rest of the season, then the "O" and "STs" have got to chip in more. If the "D" continues with their "rabid" play.... great. However, we cannot count on that each and every week as much as we want too. Just a little more each week "O" and "STs". Just a little more! Personally, I do not care if we win 2-0. However, each unit must continue to build off of previous performances. Do not become complacent. As my Master Teacher always told me in college after I thought I nailed a lesson.... "Now find me a better way". STEELWINDS

I don't feel that good about protecting a lead. They failed to do so against the Ravens, 49ers and Seahawks. The defense actually failed against the Colts, too, but Vinatieri blew it with the missed field goal. They very easily could have called interference on Goff's fourth-down throw into the end zone late in the fourth quarter Sunday. Even with that stop, they still needed a turnover, Fitzpatrick's interception, to finally lock up the victory.

This defense pretty much has to force multiple turnovers to succeed. Lately, they have been doing exactly that.
