Typical bs answer by Tomlin. I guess in his defense in this instance he wasnt going ot say “no, Pickett sucks and will never be a franchise QB but he is our QB1”

And most of your posts are you whining about Tomlin leaving without doing a press conference . Don't post crap and think people aren't going to call you out on it .

According to the data, I have made 702 posts. You think the majority of them are about Tomlin?! Insert your own icon. I have no such need.

If you're triggered by such talk, go ahead and give me another " X ".

Like I said, have a nice day.

It wasn't just the teams at the time. It was his development. Darnold is a much different quarterback now than what he was with the Jets.

No, the argument isn't that he would have gotten the Steelers to the Super Bowl. The argument is he would have made them a much better team in 2025 and going forward.

The Steelers had the cap room to sign Darnold at the time. They could have kept Pickens, too, and given him the weapons to take advantage of his talent.

Maybe it would have meant trading Watt instead of overpaying him, but that would have been a good thing.

Wonder what kind of raise Sam Darnold gets now?

Anyone who thinks we would have been SB contenders with Darnold is just being silly. Not much would have changed under our old coaching staff. Where I think things could look promising is having Darnold under McCarthy. Darnold is far better than Rodgers. ARod was great, but he's done. The guy has no mobility, so any pass rush will be the death of him.

Seattle dumped their coaching staff and their starting QB and went a different direction. It resulted in a SB. We stuck with the status quo and look where we are. The point is teams have to be wiling to make adjustments, sometimes big adjustments. Our awful ownership wasn't willing.

I think it's mostly the last part.

Just like he really avoiding saying that we benched Pickett when he was sitting on the bench because Rudolph was playing better than he was.

For most coaches, I think PCs are about sending messages to players. And I think most guys aren't going to throw their players under the bus. Especially when there's a possibility they'll need those same players on the field later that season (or in the future).

The only player (our team or other team) I ever remember Tomlin **** talking was DJ when he was on the Rats(?). Instead of the boilerplate "He was a good player for us and we're aware of what he can do in a game" or something, he pretty much just said "I don't think he's going to see the field for them" or something. Every other time he talks about an opposing player, it's about how they're a HoF player in waiting.

You’re putting too much stock into lip service and what a player on a new team says. They all pay accolades to the new team and this is where I wanted to be blah blah blah.

What else is he going to say, I really wanted to play for the Steelers but they wouldnt meet my contract demands.
