Steelers (and others) get extra 1.6 mil in cap space

The Redskins and Cowboys lose serious cap room due to frontloading contracts in the uncapped year. Numbers coming out are Cowboys will lose $10 mil, the Skins will lose $36 mil, to be spread out over 2012-2013 however they choose. The money will be divided up among the other teams (except the Raiders and Saints, for reasons I haven't seen) to the tune of about $1.6 million per team.

While I'm happy that we picked up some more cap room... this seems like BS to me. Supposedly teams were warned behind closed doors not to front load contracts in the uncapped year, but it seems like there could be way too much gray area to come down as hard as they are on those teams.

Not that I give a crap about either team, but it's Gooddell being power hungry once again.

 

I can't think this is even Kosher. How do you punish teams for an uncapped year? They need to watch it, anti-trust laws....

Well, that $1.6 will take care of one or 2 game checks for a premier player......
