I am merely pointing out his name.

For that matter, Pittsburgh under Tomlin have met with players in the past that they didn't draft but would meet up with later. Elandon Roberts was the latest one given how he was a Pro Dinner meet up with Tomlin back in the day.

Remember, a draft isn't always about who you know at the moment. It is just as important to inquire about people who you may meet later down the road.

    I do concur.

As I said, max out with Mason for 2025. Ready up for 2026. It still is a major gamble putting all those eggs into the 2026 basket as the likes of Arch and Nico could still return for 2027 but I do like Pittsburgh's odds of landing a Franchise Signal Caller in 2026 rather than this year; doubly so since the draft will be headed in Pittsburgh.

What better way to be the host of the draft than to introduce to not just the team but the entire city of Pittsburgh its potential next Franchise QB?! Peak PR there.

I think of we do take a QB at 21 it will be one of Ward, Sanders, Dart, or Milroe. That's the safe bet. You gotta have a QB.

I've been pushing him for awhile, the general disapproval of him seems to be that he's a pocket passer and everybody wants the flashy lamborghini.

I saw him once last year and he threw 3 pick sixes against Pitt. Everyone is entitled to one bad game but that was the worst performance I ever saw from a QB at any level.

Everybody brings up that Pitt game as if it's the only thing he did last year.

I'll throw out a couple interesting facts. McCord threw for almost 5000 yards with 34 TD's to 12 INT ratio(5 of those INT's were in that Pitt game).

His primary WR's, were hardly Egbuka and J. Smith. His WR's, Jackson Meeks and Trebor Pena, who both had at least 3 years of college service previous to Kyle's arrival, had 36 total catches and 302 total college career yards, COMBINED! In 7 total seasons! With McCord, for one season, they combined for 162 catches for almost 2000 yards and 16 TD's. Playing in a new offense for a head coach in his very first year as a head coach.

But all you ever hear about is that Pitt game.

Anyone get a 40 time on Kenneth Grant yesterday? I know we would have gotten it if Omar and Tomlin hadn't gotten dragged back to hash it out with Rogers, but I can't find it anywhere.

The biggest knock on McCord is his lack of mobility.

McCord is not a running QB. But he's not exactly a statue either. He is the best pure passer in this draft, IMO. I could get excited about drafting him. I think he will go in the second round though.

I can't understand the 'wait for 2026' agenda. We NEED a QB. There are some good QBs in this draft. Take one this year and take one in 2026. Have a real QB competition. With actual QBs that have a chance to become the next franchise guy.

Yep. Milroe has the best physical tools of any QB in the draft. But amongst the top 8 also needs the most development. I can understand the allure at the right pick, but Tomlin will see himself as a QB whisperer - not the guy that refused to give Pickett a bye week to prep for his first NFL start over Trubisky in favor of throwing him in at halftime, then refused to fire the worst OC in the league in Pickett's second year until halfway through the year but yanked out a ankle injury so he never got more than a game under a different OC - and will move early on Milroe while telling everyone one that's why he's highly compensated.

Milroe is Malik Willis all over again. If we want to take a shot at him in the mid rounds, then so be it.... but he is not a real option for us at QB imo. We said we want a winner. Not Milore. We want QB's up and down the roster that have similar styles. Not Milroe. I am sure they are wanting to vet all the QB's because we are 100% in need of a young QB, but Milroe is such a meh prospect. I'm not even sure his athletic ability makes his ceiling high enough for us to have to put up with the development... JMO of course

We don't HAVE to draft a QB just to draft one though. Why not wait a year if we don't like the guys that are coming out this year? If we aren't sold that any of the ones that are available to us will become a franchise QB for us, then just take a good player at another position and look to the following year. Drafting a guy just to draft one is how teams end up with EJ Manel, or Jake Locker, Dwayne Haskins, Josh Rosen, Paxton Lynch, Kenny Pickett.... etc. You don't just say, "well shucks, we need a QB... here's a guy. We don't love him, but we need one... so yeah, lets get him!"

It is also dumb just to take a QB early then do it again the next year. If we are investing a first or second round pick into a QB, we think that guy can be a starter for us. If its a 3rd or 4th round QB... then fine. We're drafting them as a known long-shot to be an NFL caliber starter anyways. Draft a guy early the next year... but if we use pick 21 at QB I will be LIVID to see us take another QB in the first two rounds of 2026.

Decent stats. I care more about his 10 yard split than his total 40 time... 27 reps for a guy with arms that long is decent too though. Idk. We will see if he is available. He's about the only DL I am super excited to take at 21. Harmon maybe, but if neither are available I am punting until next year for a first round pick at DL.
