If it has been asked and posted I apologize. But what I am asking is, what is your order? Forget the names.

What are your picks? Speculation goes forever when names are thrown out. I understand that how things fall is huge but there are some holes to be filled.

What can't we pass up on in certain rounds? No matter the value, when is there such a drop off that you may have to reach up or down to get what is needed.

    I say as follows:

Round 1- Need OLB or DLine ( consensus but true ) our front 7 needs help.

Round 2 - Need WR or safety ( most have it going this way)

Round 3 - Need safety or RB ( the depth at safety makes me think we wait )

Round 4 - Need RB or ILB ( with the zone scheme a RB can be found late )

Round 5 - Need DT or WR ( if neither are obtained )

Round 6 - Need OLB or CB ( may be late but I think a raw player can be had )

Round 7 - Need OLine WR or CB ( I would be unhappy if we took a CB earlier then the 6th we have spots that need filling)

    i think
    rd1 saftey
    rd2 oline
    rd3 linebacker
    rd4 rb
rd5 defensive back cb or s
    rd6 wr
    rd7 qb

i do think this year we have an a great chance to trade back in the first and get more picks. i would like to come out of this draft with 2 safeties. looked ahead to next years safety class and it is weak

Thats my exactly my point. Remove them. Harrison is still 36 if he is here or not. Breaston isn't on the roster. Colon has had injury plagued years. Heath is Heath.

I doubt that successful drafting teams slot specific positions to rounds like that. What I think they generally do is prepare a draft board that ranks players based on talent, with some adjustment +/- to certain positions to account for need, and then stick to it in a disciplined manner. If a team said "we're taking a WR in round 2," and then stuck to that plan regardless of who is actually available at WR and other positions of need, there is a high probability that they will end up reaching for a WR who may not have as much value to them as a player at another position. I've heard many successful GMs mention the discipline of trusting their draft boards during the heat of the draft, and not panicking and reaching for players at certain positions.

I think you nailed it with respect to value of the prospects at the positions.

I agree but just because the BPA is a tackle in the 2nd round does not mean I'll take him. There is value picks and reaches on draft day, runs on certain positions are made. To say that the best GMs take BPA is short sighted. You build where you need to.

I never said they take BPA. I said they trust their boards. Their boards factor in both quality and need. When the draft rolls around, they have already figured out how much need factors into the equation, and adjusted their rankings accordingly so that when their 15 minutes start, they already know what they're going to do.
