:lolol: Steelers aren’t signing Russel Wilson. Whatever he was going to do in this league he’s done it.

I love this. Go back to 2019 when the board as a whole were celebrating when Mason was pulled and Duck Hodges came in. Since then it's been three and a half years of Mason hate. Now that he's won a two games he was never given a fair shot. Gotta love it.

It does not matter. They should've given the guy they drafted his window. Same with Kenny, I don't care how bad Kenny is over some stretch of game, or what people think of Kenny's arm or footwork, he deserves his window to practice and have offseasons and seasons with the first team and grow and then we will decide. Mason never got that.

This def isnt an option if they give up on KFP. Wilson been done his last 2 years in Seattle. Draft a qb in later rounds, 4 or 5th. Cut Trubiski, let Mason n KFP compete with a 3 qb.

Don’t know about all the stories, just know he has not been the same since being injured in Seattle. Would not invest what it would take to get him here.

Maybe he doesn't want to sign with the Steelers. The way he has Been treated
By the Steelers according to some on this board he should take his talents to another
    Team.

But almost everybody on this board said he was disrespected by the Steelers as you said even though
31 other teams chose not to sign him. I wonder why people forget when Ben R was hurt at beginning of season
and MR had his chance his 2nd/3rd year in pros steelers gave him his chance to shine. He would have had about
the same time in the NFL as KFP has had with an experienced OC/ QB coach. Coach Randy as # 7 calls him.
Maybe as some people suggested something just clicked after 5 years in the NFL? Remember how he use to
stand back in the pocket like a statue and take the sack? I didn't think so just as other board members don't.

It would be way out of character, in my 55 years of watching the Steelers.

Mayfield isn't signing anywhere as a backup. He's a starter for the Bucs this year and he has played well.

They traded a third-round pick for Woodley before the 1984 season. They traded a fourth-rounder for Blackledge in 1988. Both flopped.

He had a shot. He didn't do enough with it. They moved on. He couldn't because nobody else wanted him, which ended up being lucky for the Steelers. Maybe his second act is a good one, but the Steelers don't owe him anything.

kenny was in a battle his first year as a #1 pick. mason got 3rd team reps as a 3rd round pick his first year. mason got 2nd team reps behind a franchise qb his 2nd season. KFP got 1st team reps. mason was thrown in as a starter very early in his second season with 2nd team reps behind a franchise qb. you really can't compare their first and second year as being the same. mason has kept his mouth mostly shut and learned the position. KFP will i believe. mason has evolved as a qb just through reps and learning the pro game over his time in the league. it is finally showing. i could care less what he did prior, nor should anyone else. we can debate that until the cows come home but he looks like a different qb as of now which i hope is good for us. there should be competition going into next year. kenny should be better as well every year he learns. hopefully he does instead of brooding.

Even if they don't, someone else will. He's not going anywhere without at least having the opportunity to compete for the starting job.

So do you think that Pickett is entrenched as the unquestioned starter next season?

I still dont understand the whole CAP thing with Wilson. If Denver cuts him the cap his is 85 million in 24, guess they could find a way to stretch that out, but still a zinger. If someone trades for that, even though someone here said it was doable, I think it would be nuts. That said, a guy on radiio said the amount he signs for with a new team is what Denver can take off the CAP, so Russell can coast, and if he gets an offer it can be little as he gets his guarantee anyway...make Denver eat the cost and smile. I dont think he is a guy that even if he competes for a starter position will be satisfied as a back up. Need to get a clearer pic, but how can Denver expect to eat that and compete?? Might be eating the HC salary as well if they get itich fingers and fire his butt.

Ah, the wonder years. I remember back then I’d sit and wonder what it would be like to have a good quarterback.
