(Sorry - didn't see StrummerFan's post on similar topic)

252 return yards yesterday coupled with a net offense of 349 yards produced over 600 yards of total offense. Best overall effort I can recall in a long long time. All this without AB involved. Although with the way we were moving the ball on O we might have still possibly racked up this same number on O with average returns.

    Three observations:

    1. Great forward/lateral moves and adjustments by returners (Rainey and Sanders)
    2. Great open field blocking by entire special teams
    3. NO FRIGGIN penalties for a change on these excellent returns

So how is it explained? More time in the video room this past week by special teams? Bad Giant special teams? Rainey finally gets it? Luck? Harmonic convergence? Refs looking the other way on these returns? I can't come up with a reasonable explanation except for a combination of all of the above. Other thoughts?

Just by seeing Rainey in so much pain yesterday tells me that his special talent will probably be dressed like Troy this week. AB came up limping but the injury to him doesn't look as severe.
What ST's needs to do is cut out all of the penalty yards but they took a step in the right direction yesterday for sure.

I asked my Giants co-worker if their special teams are normally that pourous....he said not normally. I just wasnt sure if we were looking so great because they suck or if we finally learned how to play ST! :clapping:
