He definitely looked smooth at the combine but as you say the game tape is really what matters. Branch from Michigan looks phenomenal on film but very average at the combine, of course he wasn’t asked to play man much at Michigan. So many of these guys are scheme dependent so based on what the Steelers do it is important to draft the right one. There are a few of course that can play in any scheme. Out of curiosity have you evaluated Porter Jr. yet? I am curious what all the fuss is about. He doesn’t really look that special on film, he hasn’t really had a lot of production or splash plays and at the combine he was just ok in from what I saw. I get that he has awesome measurable etc. I don’t think he was challenged a lot in College but was that because he was that good or was the CB on the other side just significantly inferior to the extent it was easy just to throw it that way? What is his football IQ and instincts like?

Porter looks like a 2nd rounder to me. But I think he'll be a 1st Rd pock on name recognition

Fair enough. You've been on him from jump. I was expecting a 4.55 . So good for him. But he may still end up a 2ne rounder anyway coz Deonte Banks pretty much leapfrogged him with his workout and tape.

I really don't get Witherspoon love.
I'm not saying He's not good....,but I've yet to see what puts him ahead of anyone else....besides some guys on tv saying so.

I won't lie, I like his tape. He is sudden ( and it looks like) he diagnoses the play very quickly. Or as some have suggested, he is guessing, and guessing right a lot.

I'd rather get the taller, smoth guys personally, but I see why he is hyped.
