Hello fellow members of TheSteelersFans. AQL here giving you a link to a story by a former rival of the 70s who elected to have his take on the greatest running backs in NFL History.

    Please take a look.

Notice something odd here? Somehow, someway, Ezekiel Elliot cracks the list but Franco Harris does not.

Let me repeat that, a rookie, who indeed was the NFL rushing champ is "better" than a four time Super Bowl Champion and Super Bowl MVP?

Again though... this is not the first time Brandt's bias has shines though.

    Here are some other examples.

Oh, oh, excuse me.. "Honorable mention" for the 1974 team.

Rodger Staubach ahead of Terry Bradshaw? In some ways I could see it in terms of stats but outside that a 4 to 2 difference in Super Bowls.

This, to me, does scream some sort or form of sour grapes. For those of you that do not know, Gil Brandt was the former VP of Player Personnel for the Dallas Cowboys from 1960 to 1988. Keep in mind that the Steelers and Cowboys squared off time and time again in the Super Bowl during the 70s. Overall though, history was written for the team of the decade.

As such, it does appear that, every list made by Gil does teeter on the edge of sourness to me.

Nevermind me though guys. What are your thoughts on this? Do you believe Gil is snubbing the Steelers? Are his lists accurate? Who are your top 10 defenses, running backs, etc.?

I'm not sure how Elliot makes any list after one season. It was a good season, but best all time?

Used to listen to Gil Brandt on Sirius NFL radio years ago. Not a bad guy, but the most painfully boring and bland prognosticator ever. I had to stop listening because his long off track monotone stories would lull you to sleep and actually made it dangerous to drive while he was on. I nodded off on more than a couple of occasions, causing me to run numerous stop signs, nearly hit people in crosswalks, and have 2 or 3 near head on collisions after crossing the centerline. I don't think the guy is salty, just an old geezer who probably has severe dementia settling in.

I just checked, and Jeezus, the guy is EIGHTY fricking FOUR years old. At this point, his opinion on adult incontinence products is more valuable than his opinion of football.
