Mike McCarthy and the Steelers already have a reclamation project in Drew Allar. Drafting Sorsby would tell me that the team clearly doesn't believe that Allar has progressed enough for them to feel comfortable in his development. In addition, Will Howard would be seen as not being a potential solution either. Even if I were to award the aforementioned statements of both Allar and Howard, Sorsby's issues Off the Field are a massive risk.

I wouldn't roll the dice on him.

I think Sorsby would have needed a good 2026 to go in the 1st round this year. A lot of people would have said Drew Allar was going to be a 2026 first round pick before the college season began.

For the supplemental draft I wouldn't give over a 3rd round pick.

And, I still think the NFL is going to pull something out of their Ass to make it so Sorsby is not allowed to play in 2026. Maybe the NFL could ban him from the supplemental draft because of the judges ruling that he is allowed to play in college this year. The deadline to apply for the NFL supplemental draft is June 22, so if the NFL can just hold off his eligibility for another week.

    Heard on radio today
    Under 24 starts
Only 1 qb ever with under 24 starts succeeded as a starter in NFL
    Cam Newton
Sorsby is a career 3 stringer in NFL
    Hold on
Ty Simpson got drafted 15 overall
So I guess anything is possible

The Steelers are looking for their QB of the future and Sorsby won't require a first round pick, so I think he makes a lot of sense. Problem is if they go with Rodgers / Sorsby / Allar with the two kids fighting it out for the QB2 role it means if Rodgers goes down for a long duration the season is over.

But then again I don't think Howard is the QBotF because his arm is limited. He's a Cousins type talent, where Cousins probably has the stronger arm, so I'd say QB2 is his future at best. This is McCarthy's first season, so it's a good time to load up some young QB talent in that room. And I think he's more likely to win a QB battle early between those two rooks, because I think Allar's more of a project with his feet.

Sorsby has a chance to start. He's not a slam dunk type who goes up high, more of a round 3 type, but he is an intriguing talent. Tough, feels like a fit for Pittsburgh to me. Question is are they willing to go with two rooks behind Rodgers. Because that's what it'll be if they take him.

If it was me, I'd put in a round 2 bid on him (he's a round 3 pick value to me, but the Steelers are not going to win with a round 3 bid). My rationale here is that if Rodgers stays healthy we're going to pick late in the round as a playoff team in the 2027 draft. And if he doesn't, it's gonna be nice to have a second young QB representing a shot at a future starter. Competition is always good in my book.

But I don't expect the Steelers to do that. I think their love affair with Howard needs to run its course, and for this season he offers a stronger QB2 option than either rook would.

I don’t want to be the Browns and just throw something at the wall and see what sticks. I keep on hearing good things from camp about Howard and Allar has potential. Develop them before we spend draft capital on a guy who has a 13-18 record
