Disco, you’re right. That stat line is accurate and it ain’t pretty, but as someone who didn’t want them to take ANY QB this year and as someone who hates Pitt (WVU alum), I can honestly say that stat line doesn’t really tell the whole story.

Just my opinion, but three of those picks were not on Kenny. The two against the Jets hit both Claypool and Friermuth right in the mitts and the first one against Miami where Claypool fell down was just bad luck.

So really, in my mind, that stat line could just as easily be 2 TD and 4 INT

Then if you factor in two pretty sweet drives against the Jets that he capped off with two rushing touchdowns, the stat line that he is actually responsible for could be thought of as 4 TD and 4 INT after 3 starts.

Does Pickett have the physical tools of Josh Allen? Josh Allen was a project with great talent that needed to be refined. Pickett is not that.

 

Give the rookie rest of season and if he still sucks by week 16 draft a new qb next year. Nice qb class. Kenny should get bet and show improvement if he is really the man.

Stats are misleading, 3-4 of those INT's were not on him (one was a hail mary). No prep in the Jets game, poor scheming by the OC, dropped passes all play a role.

OP didn't mention the 2 rushing TD's. Give KP till the end of the season before passing some sort of judgement - even then its the first year - barring a meltdown he's got to have a chance with a better OC next year and more help on the O line.

 

My thing is you still roll with him for the season and see what you have once all is said and done. If he’s not the answer then you know as you roll into the next draft. What’s the debate here? Play the kid and find out.
