I've had a long talk with the Mods and we have decided to rename this thread, "YouTube on a Steeler message board".

This album and Van Halen's 1984 went a lot of places with me in the early 80s!

I really like their(Jefferson Starship/Airplane)live stuff way way better. I drove My Family crazy with 1984. I even sang the Guitar parts. LoL

I’m definitely digging this. It’s funny though; when it started playing on my iPad, one of my cats came running to me. I have no idea what the opening guitar part sounded like to him, but it sure perked him up.

    Ehhhhhhhhh.......maybe a little similar.....

With 70 years or so of rock music, theres always gonna be something that reminds folks of something else, or sound like some variation.

Still when I hear Nirvanas Teen Spirit riff I always think of Bostons More Than a Feeling.....even though they arent exactly the same....

    Hahaha!!

I played it for my cat just now, and he had no reaction. He was kind of sleeping though. He seems to like mellower psych music.

Love this duet with Roy Clark and Johnny Cash! Roy Clark uses a glass to play his guitar! He was probably the greatest guitar player ever!!

I don't know ....I was never a fan of nirvana. I'd have to go back , and listen. Although You are comparing 4 chords....while Im comparing riffs. All I know is when this song 1st kicked off I thought it was $hitty remake.....until I listened to the whole thing . I like it a lot. But everytime they go to that riff I start singing Steely Dan. LoL
I liked it enough I'm checking out more of their stuff.

No such thing as the greatest Guitar player ever, but He(Roy Clark)was definitely one of them for a fact, and He didn’t have to hide behind a bunch of effects.

    Riffs......chords.......tomato....tomahto...... :roflmao:

I go back and forth with Nirvana. I listened to the Bleach record a few months ago. I like that one a lot better than anything else they ever did! Probably because Kirk Cobain stole King Buzzo from the Melvins guitar tone on that particular record.

Dirty Work is my favorite Steely Dan song.

Can't say I've heard that Nirvana album. People thought I covered Nirvana songs for awhile back in the day, but I was really covering Meat Puppets, and David Bowie tunes Nirvana covered. LoL.
Seriously....I have tried listening to Nirvana, but I get bored really quickly at the Guitar playing. I do kind of dig His vocals though.
