Friends went and saw the Grateful Dead movie. I was never a big fan but they enjoyed it.

Odd but here is a little Chili Pepper story for you. Anthony Kiedis wrote a book called Scar Tissue about his life. He lived with Sonny Bono for awhile and it is why he became a junkie. In the book he tells of a kitchen table that had a big ass bowl filled with opiates. Sonny had a chronic back problem and obviously a doctor had no problem prescribing. You heard of "wake and bake"? Generally that is for weed smokers but Anthony took it to another level.

I watched it back in the 80’s. It’s basically just a long music video with some animation tossed in. Definitely not something I would watch again

I've never been a big fan of the Dead, I don't hate it, and they have some stuff I enjoy, but I have never purchased anything of theirs.

I would suggest listening to American beauty and working man’s dead. Both are great records. More in the vein of country blues than psychedelic. None of the long drawn out spacey jams. My personal opinion is when they were on they were great. When they were off they were terrible.

The musicians were good. The singer had too much vibrato in his voice.

We had a Buffet cover band for one of our local summer concert series. It's a good thing most the tourist were drunk off their ass cause the band was not good.

I'd say the best we have had the past 5 years or so was an all girl AC/DC cover band. Can't remember their name but they kicked ass.

Because you had to listen to a jimmy buffet cover band.

worked in a bar for a few years. We had acoustic acts 7 nights a week. 99.9% of those acts were terrible and 100% of them covered buffet

These guys were not bad. The singer put too much effort into it. I wish they had a harmonica player but, the girl on steel drum was really good.

I always found it strange that a Musican would play in a cover band that only covers one band, or artist. I know they can make money that way, but it you can do that covering multiple bands. Just seems that it would be boring.
Once I was asked if we were a STP cover band, and I said that was just our STP set.
