Something’s Brewing in Pittsburgh — But They Still Need One More Piece

This is a really important week for the Steelers, and the decision to potentially grab another high-end receiver feels more important than ever. This team is good. If they win tonight to go 5-1 and open up a 3.5-game lead in the division, you could argue they’re very good.

But I’m still pretty adamant they need someone more in the Jacobi Meyers or Chris Olave mold rather than an A.J. Brown type, who’d probably get even fewer targets here given our offensive scheme. Someone like Jaylen Waddle would make a ton of sense — selfless, quick, makes the small plays that swing games, and doesn’t need to dominate touches to make an impact.

The defense is doing its job, the O-line finally looks like it’s coming together, and Aaron's been steady enough to let the run game breathe and be productive (the last few weeks). They’re not perfect, but this is the first time in years I’ve felt like something’s really cooking in Pittsburgh. If they can add one more reliable route-runner who complements DK instead of competing with him, they could make some real noise in January.

Here’s hoping Kahn sees that window and takes advantage while it’s open.

Olave is a first round receiver with a pretty big contract; I don't know why Steelers fan want to give up draft picks for a WR who has had 4-5 concussions.

 

If they were courting the Saints, it would be for Rashid Shaheed.
