Maybe Ben took him under his wing and said, just run whatever you want, that's what I do.:smiley1:

The title of this thread had me thinking you were jumping on the Joe Burrow bandwagon.:nono:

At first I was hoping to see Mason throw a pass or two. Then I thought better of it and was glad he didn't.

I kept thinking back to what happened the last time Rudolph was throwing passes late in a game when it wasn't necessary...

Why even have a guy on the roster if you have no confidence in him?
They stink at finding a capable backup.

I was really worried Mason might actually attempt a throw on 3rd and 16... luckily for all of us Benny Snell was right beside him for the clutch handoff.

I thought you meant Dobbs..Ben and Dobbs are always on the ipad before Ben comes out slinging.. Ben has never really been a true student of the game , but this year he is different. Dobbs is clearly the guy Ben trust to tell him what the Defense is doing and what he can do to exploit it ...Dobbs may never make a good NFL QB , but he will be a great Coach if he choses that as a career..

I wanted to see him sling it too. We had a big enough lead.

His major is in Aeronautical Engineering which is the same as mine. He would be wise to throw that Major down the drain. After 6 layoffs over 30+ years I am making a full career change.

I just have no satisfaction coming in from the freezing cold rain and sleet watching the public board planes with smirks on the faces looking at us grease monkeys like we're just a bunch of jiffy lube technicians and asking if the plane is safe to fly on. Meanwhile I just changed a $186,000 fuel control unit, ran it up and leak checked during their inconvenient delay so that they can fly a 2000 mile round trip for roughly $74 on their 3 month early booked special. The best part of that career is the enjoyment of working graveyard shift with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.

Dang man that does sound like a drag..Good Luck on your new career ,I hope it treats you much better .. I would say a position Coach in the NFL would pay pretty well .. He would probably have to do that a few seasons... I would hire him right now over Randy so who knows..

The running game improved with his handoffs to Snell. Wish we had a coach who could notice when Connor sucks , ( which is often) Snell usually does better.

These things often puzzle me. To be a coach in the NFL you have to be the very best of the best yet we fans can see that there are problems in the way people and schemes are being handled?
    1. Are we all wrong?
    2. Are there underlying reasons, such as internal politics, that over-ride what we see?
    3. Are there things going on that we simply aren't capable of understanding?

I have a defensive mind first and foremost, but I have my fair share of ideas about the offense

Me too:cool: Like let Ben do what Ben does but have a plan for a little run game and a back up plan in case Ben gets hurt.

Man it's hard to have a serious conversation with your avatar:rolleyes:

I'd always heard that working for a big multi-national conglomerate was coveted. It wasn't all it was cracked to be other than some perks. I'm doing something different, too. I love working with my hands but I've had it up to my silver hair with manufacturing. I've actually kicked around the idea of getting my CDL. Definitely something different than the first 35 years of my work life.

So Snell is usually better averaging .6 yards less per attempt? Sounds like all the Dobbs lovers who swear he is better than MR, even though MR was better than him in '19 preseason, Dobbs was traded and relegated to 3rd string, cut because he could not beat out a 6th round pick. I say this actually liking Snell, but lest we forget in 50 attempts he has fumbled 2x this year. Career wise in 158 attempts he has a 3.8 avg, Conner 495 attempts with a 4.3 avg.

Perhaps with more snaps Benny may get better, or not. So far though the stats show he is not better.

I could agree with that, then again how many capable back up are there in the league, really look at the rosters? A couple, but then look at there career %, sure they may be able to keep you in a few games, but their won/loss in those games usually comes out to what we had last year with MR. I am not a big MR supporter either, but with (perhaps) 17-20 capable starters in the league, the rest are just a big drop off. Would I take Ryan Fitzpatrick, sure, as the GM you find the 8 million he is making...btw he has a career 58-86-1 record.

I dont think anyone is saying Snell should overtake Conner, I just think we could be more creative in our running game and that includes Snell and Samuels and maybe McFarland

Not arguing that (except Samuels as he has done nothing). They have tried Mcfarland and he has slipped a lot, but definitely has the potential. I think the 'be more creative' is what they are missing, the play calling and execution have been horrible. One play last week had Conner 3 or more yards behind Ben, who was in shotgun. He got stuffed behind the line. Running 8 yards to lose 2 is pretty humiliating.
