I'm also a foreman so I understand how my companies email works and what is inappropriate. It doesn't take a tech wizard to understand this. The difference is, I wouldn't text my closest friends the stuff that Gruden did. That's not the kind of person I am. But hey, let's just blame it on the "cancel culture", like everyone who doesn't think like that is a bunch of puss!es.

 

They sure do and I'd say almost all of the people condemning him are nothing but hypocrites at the end of the day.

I guess I'm a POS as well, then. My last post on this topic. I'll happily move on since him ever being a Steeler won't ever happen. I'm sure we'll find a plow horse OC in the offseason. Tomlin will have to make sure he isn't good enough to ever take his job, so we'll end up with garbage again.

What's Cancel Culture? In my day that was called being accountable for the crap that comes out of one's mouth. Now it's people whining about being canceled and being censored. It's called being a grown-up folks and accepting responsibility for one's actions. Ok rant done.

 

People don't change. Vick has tried to remake himself as a changed man but he is still a human that inflicted pain and suffering on animals that is unimaginable. My older brother is an alcoholic, not fall down drunk and blackout type more of the he needs a drink and a bar to socialize. He hadn't taken a drink for 15 years but he was still an alcoholic and one day just started drinking again. People are who they are and it shows up sooner or later. This board could be an entire dissertation in anthropology on the subject. Many members try to hide who they are but it comes out time and time again

 

This worse part was that we knew it was all Tomlin and his wanting to help Vick rehab his image. The fact that he couldn't throw a quick slant on a three step drop or break runs the way he used to before prison was twisting the knife even further. Heck I'd have taken St. Pierre over Vick.

 

Holy overreaction Batman. Didn't mention cancel culture or anything of the sort. But let's be real, Gruden did something many others have done, including me. Theres texts and emails I've sent over the years that I wouldn't want the public to see. I have no shortage of co-workers who have done the same.

Just saying, he did something so many others have. Does it make it right? No, but it's perspective

 

The "cancel culture" was in reference to another poster using that term multiple times. I don't believe I'm overreacting at all. I think the overall point you're missing is that you and I are quite different from an NFL head coach. They should be, and are held to a higher standard. A person in that position has got to be smarter than that. Plain and simple. Now, would I stop watching the team if he were to become part of it? No. All of this was a simple response to a comment about drama and Gruden. He caused it with his own actions and no one else is to blame. I don't use the words "faggot", "retard" or the infamous "n" word. If that makes me woke, part of cancel culture, or somehow less of a man, so be it.

 

You missed some other reasons for him being a POS there.

 

I think Gruden would only go where he thought he had a chance to weasel his way up to head coach again.

 

I don't even know what all the debate on here is about. I honestly don't. I remember Gruden getting in trouble for saying some things in emails that were leaked, but I tend to not follow those type stories. Everything has context and usually these things are spread without any of the context. My only interest in Gruden is as an upgrade at the OC/Play caller position. I would be on board with that. If Gruden was hired simply to call plays on game day and nothing else, I would be on board with that.

 

Same here. I suppose I'm biased when it comes to dogs, having had them as members of the of the family all my life. I accepted that he paid his debt to society, but wasn't ready to accept him. I wasn't happy when they signed him either, but when they put him on the field.. nope.
